Archer and subbie's suspension
Am I missing something? How in the world do these posts merit a suspension? Especially with no warning.
Kings were put to death long before 21 January 1793. But regicides of earlier times and their followers were interested in attacking the person, not the principle, of the king. They wanted another king, and that was all. It never occurred to them that the throne could remain empty forever. -- Albert Camus

FYI
Actually, there is a thread on whether scientists lie, but Rob hasn't posted to it yet.

Re: AdminOmni
Oh, come on. Nemesis isn't comparing homosexuals to animals. He takes the typical view that the argument for gay marriage consists of "If it makes someone happy they should be allowed to do it," and then uses an analogy to show where that argument breaks down. This is a common and acceptable method of making arguments concerning ethics and morality, akin to showing the opponent's argument is invalid because it leads to a contradiction. If he is in the wrong, then it is because it has already been explained to him that this is not the argument that is being made but he has not been listening. In that case, it is a different forum rule that he is violating.

Re: AdminOmni
Hmm. You may be write, berberry. Nemesis wrote:
We are discussing morals. If homosexual marriage is okay, relatively speaking, then so is marriage between a man and a child or a woman and a dog. Do you understand? I'm not equivocating homosexuals to dogs. I'm merely showing that moral relativism is a bit absurd when you view it in these contexts. It's not clear to me what the heck he is saying, and he doesn't really clarify it in subsequent posts. Sorry for the interruption.

Faith's suspension
What finally prompted Faith's suspension? Admin's post doesn't really explain why.

Inappropriate moderator comment
Sorry to continue being a pain in the butt, but I want to express my dissatisfaction with AdminNosy's comment:
Almost without exception the "information" in fundamentalist, Biblical literalist web sites is wrong. It varies from missing recent material; to missing old,old material to lying about what is there. In my opinion, this is the sort of comment that should be made during debate when it can be disputed; I don't feel that a comment like this should be made in Admin mode.

Re: Faith's suspension
Very well, then. But will take this opportunity to register my displeasure at her permanent suspension. Whatever her problems are, I never considered her to be the worst offender at violating any of the guidelines. And in the few threads we participated in together, I found her to be among the very few on the fundamentalist and conservative sides that really deserved replies. If you read this, Faith, I'm sorry to see you go.

Too bad. Your strange mixture of postmodern deconstructionism with New Age pop psychology may not be terribly productive, but it is occassionally interesting. Good luck, iano.

Demon-Fray/Apolo
A pretty bad no-no. Demon-Fray, actually Apolo, wrote: Apolo your not the only one that can speak Latin. AdminNosy replied: Apolo, normally I'd ban immedidately; especially considering the degree of dishonesty you show by attempting to "talk" to yourself. Personally, as someone who normally doesn't like a lot of moderation, if someone did register twice for the purpose of pretending to be two different people, I'd have banned his ass right off the bat.
