It is my understanding that rather than a loss virtual particles popping into existence imply a temporary
gain.
It is also my understanding that virtual particles fully adhere to conservation laws because they exist for times less than the Planck time.
However I am talking off the top of my head and, like you, I have probably exceeded the limits of knowing what I am talking about so I could be talking out of my virtual arse and be temporarily violating the conservation of nonsense.
