I didn't make any "argument". I made an observation based on somebody's comment that guns are tools.(By the way, neither drill presses nor belt sanders require safety shields. )

Wasn't Kent State a National Guard action? You can hardly compare that to "whacko" shootings like Columbine.

Military and police shootings aren't effected by civilian access to firearms, so they're irrelevant to this discussion. Who did the shooting and why is more important than the location.Ignoring that fact makes it look like you're trying to weight the numbers in your favour.

"School shooting" in the context of gun control has to mean civilians doing the shooting. German paratroopers attacking a school full of Polish cavalrymen is not relevant. Pardon me if it takes some actual effort to back up your points.

And those points are invalid because those were not "school shootings" in any sense relevant to the topic. If you want to make a point about gun control, don't pretend that any gunshot in the general vicinity of a school is a "school shooting". I'm pointing out errors in somebody else's research. I'm doing their research for them.

I was refering to Kent State and Jackson State, which were not "school shootings" comparable to Columbine.I'll say this one more time: We're discussing control of civilian guns here. Shootings by military and police are not relevant.What part of that is so @#$%ing hard to understand? Unbunch your panties for a split second and read what I wrote. **sigh** This is getting boring.If the topic is indeed about inability to read, then you are demonstrating that inability in spades. The list of "some" is wrong.The topic being (directly or indirectly) about guns and the forum being Coffee House is not an excuse to park your brain at the door and present sloppy thinking - especially if you are trying to underline another poster's sloppy thinking.
