I've checked Prentice-hall's on-line Catalog - Maybe the book you are talking about is:The World's History, Combined by Howard Spodek, Temple UniversityIs that the one?It contains sections about the spread of religion but since it had a timeframe of millions of years - I find it very unlikely that it suggests that the exodus happened.This message has been edited by Charles Knight, 09-30-2004 05:32 PM

I think Chris is refering to this:PHSchool.com Retirement—Prentice Hall—Savvas Learning Companyif so I very much doubt that it claims that the exodus happened - look at the section headings. It may discuss the exodus within the context of what christians believe but it does the same for all the other "major religions".

Is it not being established as happening and adding on to this? The exodus is used to describe the formation of the Israelite civilization.

Not at all. It is simply repeating what the Judaic mythology says.
