According to the Torah
The Book of Genesis tells
The textbook is not saying that the exodus is fact. The textbook is saying that the Torah claims it to be fact.
edited to add: If I were to write
According to Norse mythology the earth and the sky were created from the corpse of the giant Ymir.
Would I be saying:
a) that it is a fact that the earth was created from a giant
or
b) that it is a fact that according to Norse myths the earth was created from a giant

Read the text again. The text is claiming that "This is the story told by the Torah" not "This is the absolute literal truth".

Sure they base some of their conclusions on writing, but they also use cold hard facts like archeology. Does your textbook back up the exodus with archeological facts? if not then its just repeating what the Torah claims and is not stating that this the truth and therefore the exodus isn't being taught as fact as you claimed back in message 52.

THere must be a conclusion to how and why they left Egypt. The best evidence there is to what happened is the written text.
There's nothing wrong with you taking that position but its not the position that the textbook is taking. Read it again. The text is saying that this is what the Torah claims, its not making any statements towards the veracity of this claim. So once again your statement in message 52 is false.

I feel the exodus has been accepted.
Accepted by who? Certainly not by the textbook authors as they are clearly presenting the exodus myth as an origin story from the culture in question. You can tell this by the way in which its phrased "According to the Torah" and "The Book of Genesis tells"
Does the text describe any other cultures' origin myths? Do you feel that it is presenting those as fact? Are those myths now accepted?

Sure if there were israelites in Egypt and there aren't any now then they must have left at some time/s. But the text is still not presenting The Exodus (ie: the biblical story) as fact. It is simply telling you what the Torah says. The text is making no claims towards the truth of the biblical myth.

THey are however using common sense and say there must have been an exodus.
Really? Show me where the text says that there "must have been an exodus"?
edited to add: An exodus isn't the only conclusion that common sense can lead to, for example:
IF we can find evidence of israelites in Egpyt during a certain time period and no evidence of them during a following time period then common sense would tell us that they were all killed and that none of them got away in a fantasical exodus.
