Re: Is there no need for concern?
People aren't not buying things because they're spending their money overseas...
...
So what the government should do is give people about a trillion dollars and have them spend it. The government should raise this money simply by printing it, and it won't cause inflation because unemployment is high and aggregate demand is artificially depressed.
LOL. Because whenever the government otherwise gives money out to people, they always spend it on domestic goods.

Re: Is there no need for concern?
It's certainly the case that when you give money to people who can't afford airline tickets, the bulk of their spending is going to be domestic. Where else would they spend it?
LOL. Look only to these maps (from Worldmapper) to see how wrong you are about the causes behind stagnate U.S. production:
Negative Savings
Goods Exports/Imports
Manufacturing Imports/Exports
There's clearly plenty of money to be spent; no one's buying the lame shit made in America, thoughnot even the Americans.

Re: Is there no need for concern?
The maps I linked to were about exports and imports: what is bought and sold and from whom to whom.
Note the spike and drop when laid over the demand trend in your silly little graphs.

Re: Is there no need for concern?
We're not talking about "imports and exports", we're talking about national domestic aggregate demand.
We're talking about demand for American goods; that demand is lower than before.
As the one map shows; there's plenty of money to spend. But no one wants to buy the made in America shit. American goods must be made more valuable; that happens on the production/selling end, not the consumer/buying end.

Re: Is there no need for concern?
Why are you trying so hard to avoid answering my questions, Jon? Why are you trying so hard to mislead people about economic conditions in the United States?
So far you haven't asked any questions. You've only made the repeated claim that printing money and giving it to people will stimulate demand for U.S. made products, despite the fact that:
1) People like their money;
2) People will try to get the most utility from their money;
3) This usually involves not buying useless, low-quality, overpriced, made-in-America crap
It's really so simple.

Well, obviously, anywhere other than the U.S. Where else would 'where else' be?

Re: One Example: Grocery Stores
Right now, our union is the only thing keeping the corporation from hiring illegals to stock the shelves at night.
What utter nonsense. All the retailers around here, as far as I know, hire only legal workersincluding the night-stock crew.
Why? Night-stock is usually a well-paid position.
