Does the bible condemn homosexuality?

holmes It would seem to me to be more likely that the source of problems with homosexuals is that it went against the " be fruitful and multiply " edict.Since a tribes strength lay a lot in numbers of people perhaps the elders of the tribe were concerned that sexual activity that did not result in both a stable household(thus the need for marriage) AND a continual expanding of the population would be detrimental to the success of future generations.

Theomorphic I actually am not against homosexuality.I was pointing out the likeliness of the origin for repressing homosexuality.Perhaps it also has in modern times been a scapegoat for unwanted sexual advances by the same sex in which case I would agree that it is a wrong behavior.However it is not the homosexuality but the lack of consent on part of one member that is a crime.

PhatboyNot to worry about these two. I believe they enjoy immensely throwing flames at one another. If you happen to get stuck in traffic between them be sure to bring the kevlar though!

ZealotWell to each their own decision but personally I would die in the effort to prevent either of my children from such a thing.To allow a mob to conduct such a deed without your death being the first thing to occur strikes me as cowardice in the extreme.This is why mobs get out of hand because people do not stand up to them.Just take out the loudest proponents and the rest will likely follow as the sheep they are.I don't mean to berate but I simply cannot stomach such a point of view.

shyangelJust to straighten out your quote This is my statement and I would clarify what I mean by it.A long human life time is 100 years.A millenium is 10 times this.Now picture living 1000 times this or one million years.Now let us go to 1,000,000 times that or one trillion years which is on the order of 10 times the life of the universe itself.Now let us multiply that by a trillion years or 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 years.
This number does not even register on the the scale of eternity. Indeed no number you can contemplate or even generate with a massively powerful computer would register on an infinite number of years.
Precisely how would you spend eternity my friend?

ZealotI agree that we have little information but regardless as a father you are bound by blood and love to face any mob and do your best in order to defend your children. As I stated before mobs are led by a few and collapse easily when the leaders are confronted and taken care of.Lot obviously had no problem with his decisions,
however,just because it is in the Bible does not make it morally
justifiable which you can I am sure figure out for yourself.These are some of the reasons the Bible is poor as a source of moral
guidance and it is far better in my mind to reason out from your own experiences and judgements over time what is morally right.It is a sure bet than no matter what your upbringing you will make poor decisions as well as good ones.Life is not as simplistic as 'holy books' would have you believe.
