The rest of the world should be afraid, very afraid.
This was created a the SOURCE material for some home schoolers. The rest of the world should take note. This is an example of Education material in the US. Think about it before hiring someone educated here.

Re: The rest of the world should be afraid, very afraid.
Read the History Lectures.
Temples were everywhere. But the people also built stepped mountains known as ziggurats, with a temple on top, and the Bible tells how they tried to build one higher and higher. A massive ziggurat at Ur that is described in Genesis 11:1-9 as the Tower of Babel led to hundreds of different languages in the world. As we shall learn in this course, language is a central part of a society that has much to do with its success or failure. Societies with useful languages prospered; those with difficult-to-use languages failed.

Christian Cult of Ignorance
I read on a blog - I forget which one annoyingly - something that I thought was rather insightful. The writer was saying that they thought this was one example of a wider project of constructing a parallel reality: a reality in which you can be born, raised, live and die, and never come into meaningful contact with people with differing viewpoints.
Unfortunately that is exactly the goal of the Christian Cult of Ignorance and that site is a great example of it. Their belief is that by denying facts and reality they can actually change reality.
It seems to be a very poorly done parody of 1066 & All That.
Anyone who doubts for a second that the goal of much of the US Christian Community is to create a Cult of Ignorance need only visit http://www.conservapedia.com.

Re: The rest of the world should be afraid, very afraid.
See your quote and raise:
The Afrika Korps led by the brilliant Nazi Field Marshall Erwin Rommel were very feared. They routed the British Army and almost took Egypt from the British. They were finally defeated when America launched Operation Torch and forced them to surrender in 1973. Embracing as they did the principles of evolutionism and Darwinism, it is unsurprising that they believed in the inferiority of their countrymen.

Re: Christian Cult of Ignorance
I think the only possible repost is to continue pointing out that it is NOT an issue of Christian vs Evolutionist or Liberal vs Conservative. There are many, many Conservative Christian supporters of Evolution and who are opposed to the Cults of Ignorance.
The Christian Cult of Ignorance constantly tries, as this site does, to frame the argument as though it were some attack on Christianity.
That is simply a lie.
We need to keep reminding folk that it is a lie.
It is NOT simply a matter of belief, it is a LIE.

Re: Christian Cult of Ignorance
Why is it that Christian fundamentalism and conservative politics are so often entwined??
Mainly because of movements that began in the late 80's. It was an intentional decision by the Christian Right to take over a political party. It was the result of Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, Dr. Robert Grant and the usually hidden voice behind the movement but perhaps the single most influential, Ed McAteer, driven initially by opposition to Supreme Court decisions on integration and specifically, Roe v Wade.
They had no chance of taking over the Democrat Party and so turned their focus on the Republicans.

Re: Christian Cult of Ignorance
Well, the success that was shown by the Moral Majority and Liberty Foundation, particularly with the election of Ronald Reagan, were pretty spectacular. After the scandal and disaster of the Nixon Administration, most folk thought the Republican Party would be out of power from a quarter to half century.
The lessons were learned, and very rapidly replicated all over.
Continuing:
The lesson was that the Fundamentalist, Evangelical and Pentecostal groups are prime material for manipulation. They have been trained since birth to accept authority, to not question, follow faithfully, to see themselves as under attack, to accept even embrace martyrdom; and they are easily manipulated to follow direction.

Re: The rest of the world should be afraid, very afraid.
Well it was true yesterday.
The entry has been redacted and today it says:
The Afrika Korps, a Nazi German military unit led by Field Marshall Erwin Rommel, were very feared. They routed the British Army, almost conquering Egypt.
The only Allied success against the Afrika Korps was at the second battle of El Alamein in late 1942. The Allies suffered heavier losses but forced Rommel to retreat, against the orders of Adolf Hitler.
Shortly afterwards, the Americans launched Operation Torch along with some British troops and some Free French forces. Operation Torch defeated the Afrika Korps and eventually forced them to surrender.
I have no idea how you can seriously use something like that as a lesson source.
The history of the changes can be seen here.

Re: World History Lecture One
As far as I've been able to determine, the "lectures" are intended to be used in connection with online courses offered by Eagle University.
Eagle Forum University
You can tell the level of competence of EFU by one of the items in their "In the News" section on the linked page. It is "Legisilative Activities". That can be found midway down the page just to the right of the ad for Andy Schlafly's "AMERICAN GOVERNMENT 101
Instructed By: Andy Schlafly"
Scroll down the page and you can find Andy's Previous Courses. One interesting one is :
Constitution and Current Events:
Instructed By: Andy Schlafly
In the summary he says; "Under Disney’s current management, some of that entitlement is plowed back into liberal politics. The political donations by Hollywood are, of course, as liberal as possible." His course is directed at the challenge of the Constitutionality of the "Copyright Term Extension Act".
While he might see Hollywood as liberal, the Act itself was proposed by the Conservative, Sonny Bono. In addition, the actual arguments presented in Eldred v. Ashcroft, were based on potential economic damage to those who wanted access to using the commercial value of the material should copyright expire and on the constitutional question of whether a retroactive extensions satisfied the "limited term" requirements of the original copyright law.
