Re: The Bible says we do not need God to be moral
There is no right respect for someone who denies what God has clearly said in favor of his own bizarre theology.

Decreed Morality
I asked this question earlier and received no response, I think it's pertinent and has some significance to the question of Morality Without God;
According to some Christians and Christian denominations Homosexuality is immoral - if tomorrow a giant spectral hand of god came down in Vatican City and etched into the pavement "Let my Homos go!" or similar making Homosexuality now permissible would that make it morally palletible to those who previously found it an immoral practice?

You got no answer because it's an absurd question. God's word is complete in itself, He is consistent in His word and nothing outside His word that contradicts it is to be taken seriously. His judgments are final and irrevocable.

Funny, there seems to be an echo in here.
Oh, just that silly little kid who likes to mimic.

Yet the Bible says that God changes her mind and repents past acts.
Have you ever read the Bible Faith?

Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

Maybe it's all the other religious zealots in the world saying almost exactly the same thing as you.

Re: Decreed Morality
I was just about to say that Jar,
There are many many instances where god changes things and influences the world - the giving of the stone tablets to good auld Moe and his rag tag band of Jews comes to mind
Also Faith it is a hypothetical question, if adult conversation is too tricky I understand - all u have to do is let's us know if u can't handle hypotheticals and other complex mental models and I'm sure everyone will understand.

Re: Decreed Morality
Lots of idiots read the Bible and get it all wrong, "wrest it to their own destruction" as it tells us. You're one of them.

Re: Decreed Morality
I don't treat God or His word as hypothetical, sorry, He's a reality on a par with gravity being reliable and the sun rising every day, and someday you will know it too. If you wish to have a discussion with a Bible believer you have to accept some things as givens. Your question is absurd. NONbelievers could give you any number of answers because none of it has an reality to them, but what good does the answer of an unbeliever do you in this context?

Re: Decreed Morality
If god can do anything it is possible he could change his mind, why is this causing u issues?
Also if God is real and consistent he should be very easy to test - can u propose a testable feature of god so I can go and witness it for myself and join ur clearly loooooooooovely company when the time comes

Who said God can do ANYTHING? Some things are inconsistent with His nature. His word is final, end of subject.
Also if God is real and consistent he should be very easy to test - can u propose a testable feature of god so I can go and witness it for myself and join ur clearly loooooooooovely company when the time comes
He's given us witnesses galore in His word. That's the way He chose to evidence Himself and it's very generous evidence. It's on your head if you choose to reject it.

Ah, trying to quotmine 2Petie 3:16 I see.
But Faith, I quote what the Bible actually says.
