Ok, but the title of this thread is The Search for Moderate Islam. When part of the reply is to offer quotations which demonstrate a moderate Islam, and you dismiss those as "PC", without offering any evidence for that assertion, does it not concern you that you might be being prejudiced ?

PC?
What would the PC position be for al Jazeera?

Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

homegrown bombers ...
“Improvised explosive device” set off near Colorado Springs NAACP office – The Denver Post
quote:
An improvised explosive device was detonated against the exterior wall of a building housing the Colorado Springs chapter of the NAACP on Tuesday, officials said.
The explosion knocked items off the office walls but no one was injured.
According to the the FBI, officials are seeking a "potential person of interest," described as a balding white male, about 40 years old.
"He may be driving a 2000 or older model dirty, white pick-up truck with paneling, a dark colored bed liner, open tailgate, and a missing or covered license plate," the FBI said in a statement said.
So should we blame\investigate all white people, all white males, all balding white males, all balding white males driving white pickup trucks, all balding white males driving white pickup trucks with dark colored bed liners, all balding white males driving white pickup trucks with dark colored bed liners and open tailgates, or all balding white males driving white pickup trucks with dark colored bed liners with open tailgates and obscured license plates ...
Should all people driving with missing or obscured license plates be investigated ... remember McVeigh was pulled over for missing plate and he was a bomber ...
Are there moderate balding white males driving white pickup trucks?
Inquiring minds want to know.
Enjoy

Re: PC?
Their editorial slant is likely to be subtly different from that of Fox ;-)
However, the reason I chose al Jazeera to source a quotation, was to show that even that bete noire of the conservative right is reporting condemnation of the massacre. In fact, the page I copied and pasted from (the main website page) only quoted condemnation.

Just heard that Charlie Hebdo will be published as usual next week with a production run of 1,000,000. Its usual run is 45,000. I'll buy one if I can - not that I'll understand much of it.
The Interview, which was published online after North Korea - herein after referred to as the Norks - threatened to attack Sony if it released it, has so far made $31m. Probably much more than if it had released it normally and in a much more profitable way.
The best way of showing terrorists that their attacks are counterproductive is for everyone to buy the stuff that these imbeciles don't want us to sell - in our millions.

When your world view is that every Muslim wants to cut off a Yankee's head, then PC means pointing to or pretending to be a Muslim who pretends not to want that.

The problem is that Islam itself, its own "holy" books, is all for the taking of SOME lives, and jihad is on their books, the killing of nonMuslims for Allah is on their books. There are no doubt moderate Muslims but they are out of tune with their religion. They can't very well condemn an action that is prescribed in their own books and be trusted.

Did I really just hear you say that we can't trust Muslims?

Ah, ok, it's just that I thought I heard you say that we can't trust Muslims and, as you know, that would be an appallingly racist and un-Christian thing to say and think and would likely lead to incredibly damaging civil unrest and the persecution of perfectly law abiding, god fearing, citizens that contribute a lot to our society and culture.

Gosh what a flowery bit of fantasy THAT is. Along with a weird idea of the consequences of mere lack of trust of people whose religion wants us all converted or dead. Moderate Muslims either don't know what their religion prescribes or they are lying low as told to do until the time is right to take over a particular society. Their own leaders have said as much. Funny how those who think they are on the side of reality here are the most susceptible to suicidal lies. Rather than face reality you call those who tell the truth racists. Typical PC
