So I think evolution should not be taught in schools! Of course creation should be taught.

i mean, seriously. why do we need to go over this again and again? however, i just cannot resist.
what is wrong with teaching an incredibly well-supported and robust scientific theory that makes no claim on the supernatural in public schools? if you want creation to be taught, which...yawn...creation story should we include? also, what other parts of the constitution do you want to get rid of next? the ammendment that keeps creationism, a religious viewpoint, out of public schools is the same ammendment that gives you the freedom to express your misguided opinions as well as your choice of religion without gov't hinderance (unless of course it harms the public good...) maybe you should know that i am one of "those" science teachers. you know the kind that teaches kids how to think critically and exam evidence and perform actual science. if i want to read the bible to children, i'd do it in sunday "compulsory education" school.

are you insinuating that private schools are better than public schools? or worse, what are you saying about our ability to educate people of every socio-economic class? just what other opinions are you holding back?

If you dont want to talk about God in schools well thats fine but the problem that i see is that your "well supported and robust scientific theory" is a religion of its own. Your theory has huge problems against some basic natural laws that cant be cheated. For example evolution violates the second law of thermodynamics but most of all evolution hasnt been observed and im afraid no transitional fossil will be found. if you want your students to think for themselves and examine the evidence make sure you notify them about this things.

Since the topic here is education and evolution, I'd like to know where you learned about evolution. I'm sure you actually believe that

Hi Jazz,
We do talk about God in schools, in fact, it is 2:41 pm right now and at 2:48 pm I will be talking to 29, 13 years olds about God. In schools in Scotland we talk about many gods, and the Buddha as well, God is well catered for. Brian.

a carpet fitter wrote an article on the second law which falsifies evolution. Brian.

, not .com, and (in case you don't know) evolution does not violate any of the laws of thermodynamics, for the same reason that a person growing from a baby to adulthood doesn't violate any of the laws of thermodynamics.

Well clearly if your PHYSICS lecturer tells you something about BIOLOGY you should take his word for it over what a BIOLOGIST tells you.

It might do you some good to read a book or two concerning biology and evolution. Are you satisfied that your physics teacher told you everything worth knowing about the history of life on Earth?

Firstly you don't "see" that evolution is a religipon, because it isn't.
Secondly - as I have already pointed out to you - evolution doesn'tt violate the second law of thermodynamics and your friend Tim Wallace admits as much. Even if he tries to hide it by inventing his own "law". And plenty of transitional fossils have been found and we have every reason to expect more to be found. So why exactly shoud we tell students any of these things, when we know that not one of them is true ?

There are threads for the 2nd law issue. Since you seem to think you know more about it than some other things perhaps you'd like to defend your assertions there.
You should be aware that there are some physicists that drop in here occasionally. You should also check out answersingenesis for their comments on the 2nd law. here is Rrhain primer on thermodynmics you can go from thereEvC Forum: understanding entropy and here is answers in genesis for youMissing Link | Answers in Genesis What goes?
