Actually, the excuse worked for some at the time. How the heck did you think that some of the men that killed hundreds of thousands of innocent people were only sentenced to 20-30 years in prison?

I am one of those that is still convinced that the best way to approach it was to castrate all german males at the time and enslave all the german women. Heck, we should have turned over all the german women to the russians to do as they pleased.
​
By the way, the last paragraph was just cloud talk out of my anger for the germans.

I know about that. I did a research paper on the subject a while back. Not only did the Russians raped and killed, they marched 1 million German soldiers to Moscow as a symbol of their victory over the Germans. Almost all of the 1 million German soldiers were never heard from ever again.
​
In this case, I'd say to the Germans, "so what? You guys started it." I know, sounds a little childish.
