It's an interesting question but your first example seems to have little to do with the question. If you are defining the chemical as 2 ppm, then as long as we know the variables involved, we can model the outcome. The amount of time it would take to "wash out" the chemical would have nothing to do with chance but all do with the variables involved (the size of the lake, the amount and speed of water pouring into it).

Re: Chances
quote:
All desease and sickness is a direct result of sin, and inherent sin
quote:
Also all sickness is caused by all the pollution we put in the world, and in our food, and our bodys (which happens to be sin also)
So which is it?
quote:
That toddler could be cured in the blink of an eye, by the grace of our God. All they need is faith.
What a lot of old rot - I'm going to start feeding christians poison - because according to the bible they are immune. If they die, it must be because they were not true christians or did not have strong faith.

Re: Chances
quote:
Can't you read, they are both sin.
And how does God alter the chemical or physical nature of things to make them "sin". Without sin could I drink acid.
quote:
Please show me where in the bible it says that.
Mar 16:18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
quote:
Also tell me why it is only Christians.
Because only their books of stories makes this promise?
Don't want to drink poison? try this instead?
Luk 17:6 And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.
or maybe this:
Matt 21:19-22 And seeing a fig tree by the wayside he went to it, and found nothing on it but leaves only. And he said to it, "May no fruit ever come from you again!" And the fig tree withered at once. When the disciples saw it they marvelled, saying "How did the fig tree wither at once?" And Jesus answered them, "Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and never doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, 'Be taken up and cast into the sea,' it will be done. And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith."
I'm sure an experted dodger has an excuse all worked out.

Have you heard of the recent discovery of where all those mysterious gamma ray pulses are coming from? it would seem the universe just got a whole lot smaller.
I'm not sure what you mean by recent - they have been under examination for about 30 years or so. Why does this lead you to conclude that the universe "just got a whole lot smaller"? The last time I checked, data from the BATSE experiment had suggested that they are not in our galaxy.
Do you know any different?

Entirely debatable - certain drugs can have adverse affects if overused but that does not mean "getting high"=bad, not at all.
