Relative to the Bush military record
I don't want to turn this into an anti-Bush topic, but I will say...
Even if all the charges against Kerry are true, I still find GWB's record of dealing with things military (both pre and as President) far more distasteful. I suspect the majority of veterans share my view.
Even if all considerations of Viet Nam, 9/11, and Bush's post 9/11 reactions are excluded, I find Bush's policies to be most distasteful. I pretty much don't like the way he has handled anything in his term as President. Tax and other economic policy, energy policy, environmental policy, and (?) - all bad.
But these considerations do belong in a topic elsewhere.

Very off-topic but I have to ask...
1) How did you find that photo at that location (w/ a little searching it can be found elsewhere)?
2) What is that photo doing at a site devoted to the history of World War I?
BTW, the orignal source is said to be the Yale yearbook (1969 as I recall, which was the year after GWB graduated).

(Replying to the message I gave the POTM to).
I never did get back to reading all those links - I did want to read the McCain (at Yahoo) story, but that page had already gone on to other things.
John Kerry's Service Record | Snopes.com seems to do a good job of covering the matter. One comment there that stands out to me, was that the U.S. government was giving out a LOT of Purple Hearts. Kerry's injuries were light, but they still did qualify for the Purple Hearts.
Perhaps what they need/needed was the "Purple Heart Light" medal, to give out for light injuries. They could reserve the "Purple Heart Deluxe" for the truly serious injuries.

Quoting Schraf's message, that you were responding to:
Bush Sr. actually had a legitimate reason to attack Iraq, whereas Bush Jr. did not.
Bush Sr. thought about the international and long-term consequences of his actions in Iraq, whereas Bush Jr. did not.
Bush Sr. was joined by dozens of other countries, many of them our traditional European allies, in the first Gulf War, whereas Bush Jr. was not for the second Gulf War.
What are your objections to the quoted statements?

Re: Kerry Wimped, refused to release complete medical records!
OK, Kerry and Bush discussion is properly doomed to be mixed.
That said, I'm not interested in debating the Kerry records (not that they are not worth debating - I'm sure others are willing).
But what I and others would like to see released, are the government records concerning the formulation of energy policy. These should have been released a long time ago, not as part of the election campaign, but as something the public has a right to know about.
This topic will be closed at or about 600 messages, least it suffer technical damage.

While I'm not going to debate the validity of their case against Kerry, I do note that judicialwatch.org (by their own admission a conservative organization) are not strictly liberal bashers.
From Page Not Found , and expanded on at Page Not Found (which also has further links):
92. Stephen S. Stephens v. Richard B. Cheney, et. al. - Judicial Watch has filed a shareholders suit in Dallas, Texas, against Vice President Dick Cheney and the other involved directors of Halliburton, as well as Halliburton itself, for alleged fraudulent accounting practices which resulted in the overvaluation of the company’s shares, thereby deceiving investors and others.
