So who invented dirt? It seems you must have been there. No that happened a few years, uh, few decades, no, few centuries, nah, few millennia, no maybe a few hundred thousand years? Well to give away my age. The number of my last post was the year I was born. Just noticed that and thought it was a fun coincidence.

I remember gasoline a 25.9 cents per gallon And they checked under the hood, checked oil level, filled radiator, pumped the gas for you, washed the windows and gave you a free glass for stopping in.
remember when the pledge of allegiance didn't have the words "under god." And we had to repeat the "NEW" pledge every morning until we learned it.
I remember when candy bars cost a nickel. And Cokes went up to six cents. Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

They?? Except for the cheap glassware I did all that! Religious belief does not constitute scientific evidence, nor does it convey scientific knowledge.

At 25.9 cents a gallon I expect more than just the gas.

You must have been in Maryland, gas was 19.9 cents a gallon in the Southwest in the 60's even with the free glass. Ask the hemis and vettes that got 5 mpg.
The idea of the sacred is quite simply one of the most conservative notions in any culture, because it seeks to turn other ideas - uncertainty, progress, change - into crimes. Salman Rushdie This rudderless world is not shaped by vague metaphysical forces. It is not God who kills the children. Not fate that butchers them or destiny that feeds them to the dogs. It’s us. Only us. - the character Rorschach in Watchmen

A CEO from a dairy company comes to visit the Pope. He asks the pope:" What would it cost, for you to change the words from "Give us this day our daily bread." To "Give us this day our daily Milk".
The pope thought for a while and then said no i cant do it. The CEO walked out and the pope called a Cardinal, when does our contract whit the baker run out??

I remember (in 1977) buying gas for 50.9 cents a half gallon. The pumps only had two digits, so they couldn't charge 100.9 cents a gallon (foreshadowing Y2K).

Well if it was 100.9/gal, then they over charged you at 50.9/half.
