Re: It's a matter of choice
Some things are a matter of choice. However, why do you think that belief is a matter of choice? This is off topic so I started a new topic here: http://EvC Forum: Belief...a choice?
If you have some views on this, I'd like to hear them.

We're apathetic anarchists...we don't care who we blow up!

Again I will ask how does a verse from an ancient text reveal the nature of god rather than merely the opinion of the writer as to the nature of god? How could this man have any more insight into gods capabilities than you since he also cannot be capable of understanding god as you say?
Even though we as humans cannot understand God,(meaning that we can't second guess Him) He can impart wisdom into us. In my Belief.

Re: It's a matter of choice
How would you tell the difference between someone who had wisdom of something they couldn't know naturally implanted in them and someone who didn't have that wisdom, but thought they did?

How? How do you know when someone has intuitive knowledge vs when someone is full of themselves? Good question. Many people claim to know, yet many have been duped by charlatans throughout history. You may add the Christian message to the list of charlatans, but I have chosen not to. We each decide what our belief will be. Sometimes, logic has nothing to do with it. Logic and reason can explain as much as you choose to allow. I prefer not to lift up human wisdom as my source of truth. (Not always, at least)

even evedence isn't enough
I can offer no proof of the devil, nor can I offer proof of God, and I believe that is because if we had any true proof, we would all be pushed to choose God, which isn't the kind of love He's looking for, at least that's what I think.
Heh, I disagree because even when we have a great deal of evedence for something people STILL choose to disbelive it.
An obvious example is evoulution. We have volumes and volumes of evedence to support this theory but people still refuse to accept it. Just look at the numbers in the U.S. of people who beleve that the earth was created several thousand years ago.

How true. I am Christian, but I think that the earth was created along the same time lines as those who are evolutionists. God's six days may have been six million earth years.

Re: Any omnipotent being allows evil to exsit
Humans are different. We love most of the people we love because we can identify with them to some extent, we share the bond of species and usually, mentality. People earn our love through physical expressions, usually. Parents feed us and raise us, friends share with us and help us. God does these things, but in ways that we can't see very obviously. "Proof" of our parents' existance adds to the reasons we love them, I guess. Proof of God comes from within. The way my family sees it is this: from the moment we're born on earth, we have a longing to go Home. Home is Heaven, being with God. We may not know it conciously, but we know it in our souls.

Re: Survival is amazing?
Er...I guess that's interesting. As for the paranormal, I belive in some kinds, I guess. Mostly because I have had first hand experiance with it. Ghosts, for example. Occasionally, my great grandfather will sit in his favortie chair and rock. I belive that he does that just to let us know that he's still around. As for telepathy, all of the women in my family experiance it pretty regulary. Basicly, some things seem to be only belivable when a person experiances them. I have never really experianced Gods directly, but I belive in Him with all my heart. Even if man kind cane never prove His existance, I belive in Him.

Re: Clash Fans thread synopsis
As for my Christian background, just two years ago, we really got into our religion. My family had been...pew warmers, I guess, and just recently, we went more indepth and know understand just what we belive in. As for demons, one(as a Christian who belives in such things) can't go through life ignoring them. If you spread out your arms, you touch angels and demons fighting. They are unseen, but there none the less, so one must understand and be aware of demons in order to protect yourself against them.

Have you heard that there is a one million dollar prize awaiting the women in your family if they can actually show that their telepathy is real? Check out this site here JREF - Home

Re: Survival is amazing?
I don't really know if we would count. We can finish each others' sentences, and we tend to share physical feelings. Would this be telepathy? Well, we can't do it on command, either...

No, not really. It's culture and familiarity. No more.

Is there a word for people who can transmit physical symptoms and emotions to people miles away?

Re: Survival is amazing?
I don't think so, because it happens quite often amoung the women of my family. It's like we just know what another of us is feeling, and sometimes its two of us picking up on one person.
