Author | Topic: Where is the "leftist" media in the US? | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Faith said:
"Leftist" is how we rightists identify liberals of all degrees, because we know they got their orientation from the Marxist left through the universities, which are dominated by the 60s generation. and when I asked her if she could support it she replied:
It isn't my evidence, it's Goldberg's, according to the review. Faith, that just makes no sense at all. In the quote I asked you to address there was no mention of Goldberg, but rather another of your UNIVERSAL statements, not dealing with facts or actions, but just a simplistic generalization. Even your attempt at justification is but more simplistic generalizations:
He documents the Ivy League backgrounds of the major news pundits, Ivy League being leftist. You go on to make an ever more sophomoric statement and toss it out like it had any meaning or relevance:
Heck, jar, I know a Marxist when I hear one. A Marxist is a very specific economic position and frankly one I seldom hear espoused, or is this like everything else where you have some new made up definition of what a Marxist really is? Aslan is not a Tame Lion

Apparently you have never heard of Cultural Marxism. But I was talking about a real Marxist, who went on to teach it.
Sorry about the misplaced reference to Goldberg. But we do all know that the leftists are forged in the leftist universities. That includes you, supposedly a Christian, supposedly a conservative even (by some quirky standard known only to you), but indoctrinated in a nominally Christian but amazingly liberal educational environment that led you to question the Bible, according to your testimony on the belief thread, an indoctrination you have apparently never questioned or transcended. I gotta say faith I read your post over several times and still it makes no meaning.
Apparently you have never heard of Cultural Marxism. But I was talking about a real Marxist, who went on to teach it. and that means?
But we do all know that the leftists are forged in the leftist universities. We do? Do they wear some special color, or part their hair in the middle?
That includes you, supposedly a Christian, supposedly a conservative even (by some quirky standard known only to you), but indoctrinated in a nominally Christian but amazingly liberal educational environment that led you to question the Bible, according to your testimony on the belief thread, an indoctrination you have apparently never questioned or transcended. You mean I don't question that everything should be questioned? What in the world are you talking about? Here is my short synopsis. It may well be inaccurate so please consider explaining your version. In life there are two peoples, those who look for Answers to Questions and those who look for Answers to question. It was fascinating to read how one of your teachers, guides, leaders, whatever, led you like a skilful lawyer right into the conclusion he had in mind, and you fell like a sucker for it and have never looked back.

Watch what they choose to cover and what they don't. The Chinese government is harvesting peoples organs, but no, they feel compelled to lower morale by informing us when US soldiers die or when an Iraqi civilian got caught in the crossfire. I think harvesting organs is pretty big news, don't you? And yet, not a word of it. Not that I can add much to this thread, as a European 'communist' ;-) who doesn't watch any US news. But this particular example caught my attention. It happens that the Belgian public channel VRT has a daily news that is most probably beyond your observable political spectrum (lol). Even I get riled up a bit by how they lean a bit TOO obviously towards the left sometimes. (although it is the increasing interest in faits divers like murders and such, that even affects OUR news, that gets to me more) But anyway: guess which topic they covered last week? Yep I actually remembered it because my reaction at the time was that it sounded not terribly believable. It seemed to deserve its place solely because of the spectacle value... They really didn't go deep into it, as if there simply wasn't enough substantial evidence.

"Commie librul homosexual pinko godless athiest (sic) 'Picsopalian Demmycrat," most likely. That's the definition out here in the provinces, anyway.

Belief Statement - jar
I asked Joe what I should think, and he told me right away that only I could decide that. Even if I decided not to get confirmed, I was growing up and so it was time I started deciding what I was going to do and believe, and not have others decide it for me. Then he told me a story. Long before he had been a missionary in China. The village he was in was very poor, the crops had failed and people were near starving. One of the warlords showed up and told the people, if they would abandon their current master and join him he would see they got food. Just believe in him and all will be okay. Any that did not believe in him would be left to starve to death. The warlord could have saved everyone, he had wealth and more than enough food, but instead he wanted to save only those who would follow him. “What do you think of the warlord?”, he asked? The orange Nehi was cold, and I tasted it on the front of my tongue and in my nose. So different from coke, or the grape Nehi and the questions ran back and forth just behind my eyes. A week passed and once again I sat down with Father Joe. “What did you decide about the warlord?”, he asked. “Did he really have enough food for everybody?”, I asked in return. “Yes he did.”, Said Father Joe. “Then he should have saved everybody, not just those that believed in him.”, I answered.
Decide for yourself? Ha ha ha ha ha ... Edited by Faith, : No reason given. Edited by AdminAsgara, : No reason given.

quote: I still have no idea of what you are saying or how it relates to the question of whether there is a Leftist bias in the media, but I believe that somewhere in there might be a thought. Can you try again? Where did you read this? What did I fall for? What makes you think I haven't looked back? What does any of that have to do with the difference between those who look for Answers to questions and those who look for answers to Question? Aslan is not a Tame Lion

That's ok jar I don't understand anything you say either.
But you never questioned anything. You just followed what you were supposed to follow, what you were led into by your liberal teachers. You never questioned them, you never questioned the conclusions they led you into. You fell for a parody of inquiry. Edited by AdminAsgara, : No reason given.

Do you have any support for these assertions or are they just like the Fall and Flood and Exodus and Young Earth? Edited by AdminAsgara, : No reason given. Aslan is not a Tame Lion

Your comment says more about you than it does about Jar.
Clearly you know what good is (since otherwise you would not see the "obvious" answer) and equally clearly you turn away from it.i Edited by AdminAsgara, : No reason given.

Doesn't bother you all those leading terms and tendentious implications in this made-up story that are a total misrepresentation of God, which lead to only one possible conclusion. Neither does it jar.

And the reason why it leads to only one conclusion is because you know what is good. Your only criticism is that it leads to a conclusion contrary to your ideas of God.
