I am a political moderate who sometimes manifests a selfish personality.(Warning
)
I have no problem helping people who have been marginalized. the fear that I have is that it will affect me negatively and I am most definitely not one of the 1%. Theo calls faith an "entitled old white lady: but last I heard she is half-blind and struggling to afford even a decent computer.
I look at it like this. Say you lived in an average family with hard-working parents. Yes, you grew up in the Aberration of the late fifties and sixties, but your family was not wealthy.(Though they were better off than the average Puerto Rican)
Dad died and left a modest will. So you initially stood to inherit maybe $25,000.00. Now imagine that your "family" adopted 20 more children. Now, you are left with $1,250.00 rather than $25,000.00. Thus, I am not against helping more people. I am just afraid of being hurt by it.
The only way I know to drive out evil from the country is by the constructive method of filling it with good.lvin Coolidge
