yeah, I did not get to see the one they put into my hip for the bone marrow biopsy -- and they used a local anesthetic first. I still don't want to know.

Now that sounds like a trip worth taking. I've been to the wall erected by the romans to keep those crazy folks to the north out (not to pict on anyone in particular), and the barrows and dolmens that dot the hillsides around stone henge, and up to the lochs of scotland, but haven't been to wales or ireland.
yet.

yep. back when it was the evil USSR too. I've been to countries that cover more than 1/4 the land mass of the world (even more in Mercator projection ... ), so that leaves a lot of territory to go ...

And so it starts in ernest (or in Boston anyway) ... The tube entering my shoulder is a "Hickman" line - a catheter that extends inside a major vein to the heart. Tomorrow the chemo starts, using one of the two taps provided. Hickman line - Wikipedia

.. that is of course assuming that a world without intensly strong chemical cocktails is desirable... Not any more for this program. Tomorrow I get the stem cells back to rebuild my immunity system, and my platelets, etc. It was more like being between really lousy and death on life support ... pretty ugly. Not something I would wish on anyone without cause. Thanks. My white blood cell count has gone from 0.52 on June 1st to 0.01 today: these are the cells where some are cancerous, so the more they are killed off the better the prognosis. I'm running out of significant figures on the data, so this is very good (although "zero" doesn't mean that all white cells have been killed, just in the sample size). I may go down tomorrow or it may start going up, as I got the transplant peripheral cells on the 1st and they should start turning into new white cells soon.
I also have low red blood count and low platelets (coagulation) so I will be getting a transfusion to boost them those cell counts This is now the period where I am most susceptible for bed sores and mouth sores, and so far (knocks head) I have none. All I have is a minor problem with allergy to tape and some rash around the dressings, and I have an anti-itch cream for that. No cycling yet (can't get a stationary bike for another week, a few days before moving from in-patient to out-patient with house arrest). I may make that ride in August yet. Enjoy. Those of you who know me know my passion for mocha lattes ... something I am not allowed here (not sterile enough)
Today I got some (Starbucks) canned mochas. Ahhhhhhhh. Life is good. because it is bottled\canned it is okay. I just can't have someone go across the road and bring back a real one (and no they do not taste the same, but it's still waaaaay better than institutional coffee).

Thanks Buz
Wellness Center, Healthy Living, Natural Healing I don't see any programs specifially directed to lymphoma treatments. As I see it there are these basic element to overall health:
I think that we are still learning more and more in each of these different areas, but I feel that the best advances come through application of the scientific process: hypothesis, testing, validation and replication. I am also concerned that many "alternative" techniques to not follow this process, rather taking the approach: concept, anecdotal evidence, assumption of validity. Personally I think one of the areas that is more open to significant increase in valid knowledge is the diet and nutritional health. But I'm not about to jump on a band wagon without some evidence of validity. Enjoy. Far as I know worldgrid works on macs as well as pc's. I run it on my home computer and my laptop. You may want to look at the boinc agent, as it allows you to set a max cpu usage level to help from overheating. See HIV Cancer Diabetes MDA and more - Solve on your computer. Last I read they had finished the Cancer study, but the others are still underway. The proteom folding one is a good one IMHO, and the diabetes and MS have practical applications as well. It's all good: what little you add is just that much more in the overall scheme. Be sure to join the team.

... would you be scared of death or would you embrace it? I would accept it.
Also, do you think that there is a chance that your soul would be anything more than a fond memory? That and reincarnation (which I am philosophically more inclined to believe) are things I am agnostic on. I'll wait to see what the evidence shows . One thing I expect at my funeral is fireworks. Celebration. Enjoy. The reason there isn't is the simple fact that the science and methodology of wholistic which treats the body, ... Show me the results of a double blind study that shows positive results, then show me replication of those results by skeptics. That is the standard I use for evaluating whether there is a benefit or not: evidence. Enjoy. Edited by RAZD, : .
