Summation
The election is over. But the wing-nut whining about the election has apparently just begun. Pretty funny on election day, but at this point the animosity shows signs of lasting even longer than the resentment after Gore v. Bush, and that's saying something.
And apparently, the higher your wing-nut index, the louder you are complaining about the election. The extreme Wing-nuts are no longer making any pretense of loving liberty or democracy. Good. I am glad the sheets are off.

Under a government which imprisons any unjustly, the true place for a just man is also in prison. Thoreau: Civil Disobedience (1846)
The apathy of the people is enough to make every statue leap from its pedestal and hasten the resurrection of the dead. William Lloyd Garrison.
If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and deprecate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground, they want rain without thunder and lightning. Frederick Douglass

The political right is dangerously out of touch with reality
Summary: we did the right thing.
Recommended reading: Mandate with Destiny (The New Yorker)
In short, the right declared that Bush won a decisive mandate in 2004. However, they say that Obama, who won far more convincingly in 2012, has no mandate at all.
The political right in the USA is dangerously out of touch with reality.

I just spent 3 days in Berlin. If this is hell, you can keep purgatory.
Thanks Yanks, there's still hope for you.
And us.

indeed we did do the right thing
Not so much democrat vs republican, but sense vs ignorant nonsense
The forces of progressive politics (socialized medicine, medicare and social security) won out over the forces of reactionary regressive politics (further deregulations for corporations, more failed economics, and repressive regulations for people).
There are also fewer tea party ignorant bigots in government, so not only was the presidential race a victory for society over corporations, but a more reasonable congress is a victory over ignorance based policies.
Enjoy.
