I didn't follow the whole thread, but if perchance you mean the "foolish idea" that leftists can be fascists, the fact is that today's leftists ARE fascists. Tyrannical totalitarians who are sure they are so right about everything and are so determined that their opinion should rule the world, they justify all measures to squash any opposition. They lord it over the common person, think they have the right to deny free speech to anyone whose opinions don't jibe with theirs and so on. It's just a short jaunt from there to shutting people up permanently who don't toe the PC line.
