Actually, scripture alludes to a Dinosaur in Job 40: 15-24.

This has to do with dinosaurs. And I'm not particularly fond of getting off on twitty tangents.

So where is the Dinosaur in that chapter?
It takes a fertile imagination to see a dinosaur in any of that.
I wouldn't resent your verbal usurpation so much if it were for a more valid objection, but in this case, I do.
If you can adequately explain to me another animal that might fit that description, I will recant my position that it is referring to a large dinosaur.

How can dinosaurs be mentioned in the Bible when the last dinosaur died 65 million years or so before the Bible was even written?
A brilliant question. But since the Bible DOES mention one, what merit is there left in it?

I'll just cut through your verbal meandering.
How is it insufficient?

It doesn't require a great deal of assumption before recognizing that the creature described simply does not fit an animal other than that of a Dinosaur. Unless, of course, you're ready to step in and compensate for the failures of the the challengers ahead of you.
The context, in my estimation, betrays no indication of being metaphoric.
Bzzz, Try again!

But if one accepts that all the people contemporary with the dinosaurs would have been eliminated by the Flood, there isn't much reason why they *should* be mentioned much.

Re: Reptiles
One question crashfrog:
If crocodiles went extinct with the Dinosaurs, do you think that today they would be classified with Dinosaurs?

Re: Reptiles
quote:
Do you mean "today they would be classified as Dinosaurs" because no they would not.
If what you wrote is what you meant Crashfrog has shown (in post 84) that today crocs are classified with dinosaurs in the same taxa, this does not mean that crocs are dinos or that dinos are reptiles.
So this is an unreliable identification?:
"Dinosaur, one of a group of extinct reptiles that lived from about 230 million to about 65 million years ago. The word dinosaur was coined in 1842 by British anatomist Sir Richard Owen, derived from the Greek words deinos, meaning marvelous or terrible, and sauros, meaning lizard. For more than 140 million years, dinosaurs reigned as the dominant animals on land."--http://encarta.msn.com/..._761573347/Dinosaur.html#461520248
