A little child often will follow an instruction and are thus capable of obedience.
You joking? Have you ever wondered why a elementary teacher always needs to remind the students to be quiet?
I spent some time in my life working with second and fifth graders. After I gave the second graders a specific instruction, like to stay quiet in the hall way, they'd follow the instruction for a whole minute before the hall way is filled with little voices. The same thing happened with the fifth graders.
It's not that they wanted to be disobediant. It's that they are incapable of controling their urges to talk or touch this and that. They also have a problem with memory. Yes, they can remember your instructions very well after a minute or so, but they have a problem with remembering to follow these instructions.
A and E were like little children. In fact, I can completely imagine one of my kids doing what A and E did. At first, they obeyed god. Then some time went by and one of them gave in to the temptation of touching what he/she was not suppose to touch. Perfect example of behavior in children.
