Existence of Demons (and Angels)

The problem is that there's no evidence that proves those things, either. I hold those positions, but I do so tentatively. Yes. Does that shock you? What you would induce would be a committment to holding positions only tentatively and not dogmatically.Not everybody's like you, Faith. Not all of us are so paralyzed by the idea of a little uncertainty about even the things we think we're sure about that we have to cling to dogma and turn our brains off. Your universe isn't going to disappear if you look at it askance. I'm prepared to deal with a little doubt about everything. But the mere suggestion of doubt sends you running for your Biblical comfort blanket. Where do people get this pathological fear of uncertainty?

I know you don't. You're so scared to death at the idea of uncertainty that you'd rather believe in lies absolutely, than have tentative ideas about how things really are. No, I do have uncertainty about those things. Not everybody's like you, Faith. We're not all so absolutely, quiveringly terrified of uncertainty that we'll do anything to not have any.I can live with uncertainty. What's your problem?

Insanity = not agreeing with Faith on every single issue.

Heh! Well, why not.

"God exists" is a claim of fact. "I believe that God exists" is a different kind of claim. The first is not allowed to go unchallenged without evidence. The second is allowed to do so because no evidence for or aganst it could exist. So deep, in fact, that he's beyond the access of the rational mind? Well, how convinient for you.

Here's a hint. That's the smarter part of your mind telling you "this is bullshit."

It's precisely because scientists describe those observations objectively that geologic time and evolution are included.

Which is a kind of funny thing to assert, given that nobody has ever been able to show that this is the case. Not even you, as it turned out. Since the evidence predates the theories, I find that rather hard to believe.
