You don't get it. I don't HAVE any uncertainty. I know you don't. You're so scared to death at the idea of uncertainty that you'd rather believe in lies absolutely, than have tentative ideas about how things really are.
Same as you don't have any about the things in your own life that are closest to you that you can't prove. No, I do have uncertainty about those things. Not everybody's like you, Faith. We're not all so absolutely, quiveringly terrified of uncertainty that we'll do anything to not have any. I can live with uncertainty. What's your problem?

The view that is held about what science is on this site, evidence and so on, has been showing itself to approach insanity for some time now. Insanity = not agreeing with Faith on every single issue.

Wrong. My closest relationship is to my girlfriend. Want to meet her?
Yours is to your idea of god. Where exactly is he?

quote: I don't know if what you're missing is demons but you're missing the experience because this God is in everything. That is a tragedy. What makes your perception any more realer than his? Any "saner" than his? At some point you may see that none of this matters, that your logic doesnt't matter, that our science doesn't matter. God cannot be defined or described by his creations, he cerated us with limited mobility of the mind and it is frustrating. The only thing he let us "see" is that he exists. God doesn't see, God doesn't do, feel whatever. When they said YHWH they had the right idea because we can't know his name, he doesn't have a name.

What makes your perception any more realer than his? Nothing. Faith's perceptions are just as real to him ot her as mine are to me. The difference is I don't think my perceptions superior to the facts about reality that can be ascertained by scientific rationalism. Faith and you can believe what you want as strongly as you want, but when a claim of fact is made, we need more then subjective impressions.

Do you know how easy it is to be a believer. Do you realize it is a actually harder to dent the power of Christ than to accept it? That is not the case. I started out christian and it was the interest in mythology, the "long research" that showed me the error in my thinking. The pronouncements may sound dogmatic to someone who operates on that basis continually, but that is not the case. Yes, your scheme sounds dogmatic. Why? Because, to me, the Bible is not a fairy tale like the rest of the books of mythological importance. I think the Bible talks to me, and I talk back to it through my life. edit quote by PB This message has been edited by AdminPhat, 04-19-2005 06:51 AM

Well, If the gospel of christ is a pacific, comforting reverie, tell me why Jesus says that all who love the gospel will suffer persecution?
Are you my persecutor?

If you have an S&M fetish that's your business.....
Have you been to the UK? Christians suffer from a "total lack of interest in what you people are saying, please leave me alone. Look here is 50p, now I have to catch a bus" - so persecution is a bit difficult when no-one is interested in what you are saying. So clearly either Jesus was wrong or maybe he forgot a footnote about the UK. This message has been edited by General Krull, 19-Apr-2005 09:11 AM
