Innuendo? Before Vice President Biden was Vice President he did get involved with some other things, remember? Here's a quote from the LA Times
quote:Of course this article is overall quite favorable to Vice President Biden, so he may be able to persuade voters to ignore his record.

You don't think writing (EvC Forum: Biden Our Time: All things Joe Biden)
quote:might be a bit off-putting?

So your argument is that Vice President Biden said a bunch of stuff in the past but now he's changed his mind and will do something different and that's why we should vote for him?
You'd laugh at me if I told you to vote for Trump if I said, "He can change, in his second term he'll do things in ways more to your liking." Wouldn't you?

On the other hand, of course, going up to someone like, say, Representative Jerry Nadler, and saying, "Hey, you're fat!" (even though I suspect he knows he is) would indeed be insulting, and wouldn't help to persuade him to your point of view.
I do like the "probably" in your post, though. Does that mean you think I might vote for Vice President Biden, but you think yourself incapable of persuading me, so you stick to nice, comfortable insults?

Sigh.
The last few elections haven't been very inspiring, have they? With the dominant slogan of, "Vote for Schmuck B, just because she (or he) isn't Schmuck A."

This does disturb me, though. My own outlook is very much the "secular humanist, atheist." I've pretty much ignored the protestations of faith from the various Presidential candidates because I knew they were purely ceremonial, no more to be taken seriously an invocation at the opening of Congress or, "God Save The United States and This Honorable Court" at the start of a Supreme Court session.
But I worry because sometimes these protestations of faith cause politicians to make decisions that cause real damage, like when then-Senator Joe Biden voted for the Defense of Marriage Act. Thank you (Reagan appointee) Justice Kennedy for Obergefell v. Hodges by the way.

Would it inspire you to work harder at political persuasion if you considered this fact:
The Democrat hope is a man who has survived two brain aneurysms and sexual assault allegations, a straight white male who has opposed marriage equality and supported segregation, a man whose treatment of Anita Hill when he was Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee he was forced to apologize for belatedly, a man who will, if he is inaugurated, be older than President Reagan was on the day he left office on inauguration day.

I'm curious. Would you prefer that I vote for President Trump just so, assuming he is defeated as the opinion polls appear to show is likely (just like the polls in 2016 showed), you can gloat?
Or would you prefer that I vote for Vice President Biden because you think he is the better option?

They were indeed. An indication of the American will to put the "bitter" legacy of racial strife and tribalism of the "deplorables" in the past, moving on build a glorious future of harmony in the years of his administration and that we are experiencing even now.

You could prefer to try to persuade me, possibly moving me off the fence. Remember, so many recent elections were decided by such a tiny margin of votes that even persuading one voter could have a surprising effect.
I often think if the Gore campaign's operatives had taken a little less vituperative tone in Florida it might have made a great deal of difference to 21st century world history.

If the polling were to show 37% for Trump and 49% against and the remainder undecided Bloomberg - Are you a robot? then in your opinion (combining Trump voters and undecideds) fifty-one percent of the US population are idiots!
I may vote for Vice President Biden in November, but if I thought he had your attitude towards Americans I certainly wouldn't. I don't think he does, but that remark about Black voters who might dare to vote against him ("You ain't Black!") does give me pause.

More insults? And not even your own insults but copied from someone else? A not-so-subtle whiff of the Biden campaign!
Oh, well: "A man who is not a Liberal at sixteen has no heart; a man who is not a Conservative at sixty has no head."Benjamin Disraeli Did that quote convince you to change your mind? Thought not.

Do you really believe that if you're at some social gathering and in your conversation you make a point of mentioning to someone that they are fat, they would have no reason to take offense?

I suppose there are lies coming from all parts of the political spectrum. Just as it always has been in politics. Don't you agree?

The mark of the true party loyalist: our folks lie, but less than their folks!
