Thus, a Gold i ounce coin should weigh 1.0909 troy ounces or 33.931 grams.
Since gold is measured in troy ounces, a one ounce gold coin should weigh 1 troy ounce. One avoirdupois ounce of anything should weigh .91 troy ounces.
One troy ounce weighs 31.1 grams.
One avoirdupois ounce weighs 28.35 grams.
I think you meant the one ounce American Eagle gold coin (or something very similar), which does weigh 1.0909 troy ounces or 33.931 grams, but definitely does not weigh 1 avoirdupois ounce. They definitely mean one troy ounce when they say "one ounce," because this is gold we're talking about, and they're not referring to the weight of the coin but the weight of the gold in the coin.
This means the coin is about 91.67% pure (1/1.0909), and if you visit the U.S. Mint's page for the coin you'll see that they cite that figure (American Eagle Gold Proof Coin | U.S. Mint).

Re: The Problem With Excessive Government
You've been in cycles of dependency with gambling and conspiracy theories and in a cycle of neglecting your health issues for a very long while now. And this is the first time I've noticed you mention mania as an issue, which seems to be current.
Let me briefly describe what we've been observing: You tell us you're dealing with certain issues, you describe the progress you're making then you don't mention them for a while and we think everything's okay, then you suddenly reveal you've been dealing with these issues again. Over and over.
A couple years ago you seemed self-aware about the seriousness of your issues. Now you seem intent on pretending they're no big deal.
Please, get some help.

My goal is to get to full social security (66 and 10 months) and keep working part-time.
If you wait until age 70 you'll get 24% more. For example, if by retiring at age 66 and 10 months you would get $40,000/year, if you instead waited until age 70 you would get $49,600/year. To the extent one can know these things, this is a good idea if you project a long retirement, a bad idea otherwise.

Re: The Problem With Excessive Government
If income tax is deducted from IRA/401k dispersals, and if more is deducted than is owed at the end of the year, as is the case when there's a refund, then no quarterly tax returns or estimated tax payments should be necessary.

Re: The Problem With Excessive Government
As long as the total withheld exceeds the total tax owed then no quarterlies should be needed.
Also, the IRS is way understaffed. I always underpay, TurboTax always insists I have to file quarterlies next year, I always ignore it, and I never hear a peep from the IRS. One year I underpaid by around 30%.

We did that. Now we're rolling over as much of that tax deferred money as we can each year into a Roth account, again with mutual funds. If we don't, in later years ALL our minimum required distributions will fall into a higher tax bracket.
But don't you have to pay taxes on the rollover from a 401k/IRA into a Roth? In the higher tax brackets, since the rollover adds to the normal 401k/IRA withdrawals?

Yeah, we're going to have similar issues when we're both past the RMD age. Depending upon income the Medicare penalty can also come into play.

Yeah, our FFO would never agree to that.
Our FFO is lazy.
Funny story, I'll keep it short. Part of my work time every year was out of state, and that time wasn't taxable by the state. I tracked the hours, but the form calculations were arduous, so I did an approximation in the state's favor. I estimated that it cost around $50-100 a year, but by the time I'd completed the federal and begun work on the state I just wanted it to be over.
The state caught me after about five years and insisted I had been underpaying my taxes and was liable for taxes and penalties. I explained until I was blue in the face that my approximation was in their favor, but they would have none of it. I had to refile accurately for all five years, and it turned out that I had been underestimating how much the approximation cost. The state ended up refunding me something a little north of $1000.
