Re: Domestic fairness versus global fairness
Yeah, but I'm talking factual stuff. Not nonsense from who knows what website.
The link led to a quote from the former director of the CIA. I'd consider him a pretty good source.
The Daily Show and every god damn writer on that staff...bunch of elitist if you ask me. All the writers on Colbert's show, South Park, basically everything on TV is liberal.
Actually, the creators of South Park are pretty Libertarian, not really liberal.
The Daily Show and Colbert are liberal, I'll give you that, but those are all entertainment shows. The "liberal media" supposedly refers to biased reporting in news shows. If there's a bias, it's generally pro-conservative and pro-access.
But if you ask the one's we liberated they'll say we're not bullies.
Their answer would be emotional, too, not logical, so I wouldn't consider that if you won't consider mine.
I highly doubt that. You tell any country you're American, they see dollar signs!
Not in much of Europe.
Not the middle east of course, or at least not in all of the middle east, but it'll take 2 years to change that opinion if we vote the right way come November.
There are two ways to change our reputation in the Middle East. Respecting them and showing them we're not a bunch of assholes, which will take considerably longer than two years.
Or turning the whole region to glass so there are no more people in the area to dislike us. This could take considerably less than two years, assuming the Republicans gain control of the entire government. However, this would probably make our reputation in the rest of the world go down a peg or six.
You're making stuff up now. This is conspiracy nonsense.
From the Great Conspiracy Theorist himself, this is a compliment.
We invade when they're a threat to the US and our way of life.
Yes, and "our way of life" includes cheap bananas and oil. (See Nicaragua)
Because it's the right way to think.
Your way or my way? I agree that my way is right and yours isn't, but somehow, I'd bet you want to make them think your way. When you succeed, are you going to invade the rest of us, too?
She exists in front of the camera, stop being a hater, she's an artist.
There, I fixed it for you.
That's not true.
I hate shopping. Gives me hives.
Um, your math is screwy. The Giants beat the shit out of the Packers, thus they beat the 15 teams the Packers beat during the regular season.
But the Packers beat the Giants first, meaning the Giants beat themselves, which really isn't something they should be showing on network TV.
They shouldn't be there anyway so they're actually winning.
Is the same "winning" that Charlie Sheen was talking about? If so, maybe they just need more Tiger Blood.

Ditto.
If this new "Oni" isn't an imposter, I'm hoping Oni is merely doing some type of TEMPORARY research study showing the effects of "jerkism" perpetrated on the general population. Some one should tell him similar studies have already been done using American television.

As a comedien that is the sort of thing he should be doing.

Yes - But there is no substitute for independent research.
I have faith that the old and much loved Oni will be back....

Re: Oni Right On The US. Straggler Straggles
Admittedly, that's where the present regime is taking/has taken the US of A.
Hit the nail on the head. Well said. Huge emphasis on 'regime'.
You can cite exceptions relative to some aspects of my message. By and large, the US of A is and has been the most productive, free, prosperous and benevolent.
Exceptions can always be sited (you spelled it right the first time) but you're right, it shouldn't be cause for removing the US of A from numero uno.
The problem is, nationalism and patriotism are "not cool" these days, and so it's become all the rave to hate on us. But let a problem anywhere arise, who do they call? Not the ghostbusters. The US of A. And in ALL cases we resolve the issue and leave the place better than it was.

I don't know what dog crap tastes like, but even if I wanted to be a world class cook, and I SHOULD explore the very outer limits of taste experiences, I guess I would still choose not to partake in eating dog crap. But to each his own.
Funny thing, Oni briefly mentioned doing Andy Kaufman-style humor now. Ugh.
quote:
Elaborate hoaxes and pranks were major elements of Kaufman's career.
Andy Kaufman - Wikipedia
I find that type of "humor" disingenuous and really boring. Opposite qualities of the "old Oni."

Oni and Buzsaw don't have a lot in common, but we both have enough appreciation for the good life the US of A has afforded us, our parents, our grand parents and their forbears for the last two centuries.

The U in USA shows its Stripes
People who are not from the US see the world differently than we do. We may be critical of our country for a lot of things, and admiring other less violent cultures at times, but when it comes down to which side we are on in any major conflict, you wont find many Americans fighting each other.
As for Onifre, first I might ask how well can you really expect to know another person on the fricking internet!! My guess is that he is experimenting with topics that might play well with an American Audience over ...say...a European Audience. The European Union wishes it were as united as the stars and stripes brats if a major crises ever unfolded. Republicans and Democrats would magically stop fighting...working side by side together...until the crises got resolved. Nations around the globe best stop and think who they really want on their team when it comes time to solve a problem.
They don't have to choose the fat McDonalds slob with an arrogant attitude if they don't like him, but damn that kid can break through a line when it counts!(Must see food at the other end of the field!)

You do know that the retail grocery industry in China is growing at a very high pace and that retail chains, supermarkets and even hypermarkets are there?
You do know that right now there is more opportunity for Safeway in China than in the US?

Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

Yah, Phat. Go for it. You'll just LOVE it. You won't have to make decisions or be irritated by those blasted ?Biblical evangelical Christians. The government will make decisions for you and keep Christians underground or in the prisons.
ABE: Methinks Phat will not opt for a an opportunity in a China Safeway.
My son & wife have told us how things were in China on their two trips over to buy the little girl orphans which they have adopted. By the time they got the first from the doorstep of a factory to their home they spent eighteen grand. Then the Chinese saw that they could get rid of the maimed ones if they held back the better ones. The 2nd cost about the same with a cleft pallet which has taken thousands to fix. They are both bright little darlings and we love them.
The Air in China was intensely polluted. Little Sophie hadn't seen the light of day from the orphanage she spent the first year & a half until they were taken to the hotel. Her diet was very poor, all coming from a bottle. She was like a dog in a kennel until adopted.
The girls now have their own rooms in a plush US of A home. Little Sophie only has one more operation when she is six to finish up. She can speak normally now.
In China only the girls, who are considered 2nd class citizens are allowed to be adopted/bought. The males are needed in the military and the police forces who ride herd over the people, so as to control the people and see to it that Christianity does not propagate etc.
The people live in small high rise apartments in the cities etc etc.

Re: The U in USA shows its Stripes
Strange, Buz. I would have thought that China, with its tax-free Special Economic Zones; China, where attempting to unionize is punishable by as much as a decade's imprisonment; China, with no EPA or OSHA to protect workers by interfering with business; China, where an industrial daily wage is less than five dollars - would have earned more of your respect, given that it's the embodiment of the Republican vision for America.
The Air in China was intensely polluted.
And yet the efforts by the EPA to prevent that from happening here in the US earn nothing but your enmity. Funny, that.
