The problem with EVC

Dear Sir,
While there are problems with EvC, I think they are on the whole quite minimal compared to the forum as a whole. You think you are getting a rough deal? You think your position isn’t being listened or responded to? You should try and argue the Evolution case on the many of those Christian run EvC debate sites out there. If you want to see rude and abusive then those sites are the place to go. I my self have been banned and called disruptive for politely attempting to correct a point or two (pointing out the frequent miss-quote of the 2LOTD was one I think).You have made close to 4k posts, and I’m sure have asked many of the same questions more than once: and received the same answers more than once. Now if you continue to ask the same questions over and over again, are you that surprised that tolerance is waning?If you are not getting anywhere on a particular favored subject could it be you are failing to mount an effective argument? If you could manage to present a strong enough argument for a particular point (i.e. God exists, HERE is a link to a picture of him sunning himself down on the Costa del Sol). See. Argument supported by strong evidence. However had that same photo been posted two years back and shown to be a fake, then trying to use it again to support the same argument will get you nowhere.If someone could deliver utterly undisputable verifiable evidence for the existence of God or the claims of YECs then I would find it hard not to accept them. That evidence to date has been sorely lacking. And that is despite very concerted efforts to find it.Truth is very important to the vast majority of us on this forum. We may define that truth in different ways (the religious define the truth as what’s in the bible, while those of a more scientific bent define it as “well it not ”true’ in the strictest sense but the best fit for what we have observed to date.”YoursOhnhai

I must ask how do you think we feel when we say god doesn’t exist only to be told “it doesn’t matter {what you think} he loves you anyway, Just open your heart to him” Do you not think that reads as arrogance and elitism? Do you not think that it seems to us that your side is not listening to our arguments? Not answering our questions. Failing to be polite or reasonable? Sure it can.There are some on this forum who seem as impenetrable to knowledge as Lead is to many things, but you wont catch me inferring that their density matches that of said metal. ( ok at least not twice.. )Does it annoy and frustrate when the other side seems not to be listening. Sure. But that said for the nature of the subject matter under discussion the behaviour of the forum is quite exemplary.As CK said if you are feeling the strain then maybe a self imposed time out would do you good?

What uncertainty? His holiness in all his noodley glory IS the creator, he his nothing like those ”other gods’, Pffft. How dare you shame him ‘He is the creator, the Spaghetti and Meatballs are the proof of this. Else, why would they mimic his divine holiness? (See! He is not scared to prove his existence unlike other cowardly “gods”)What do you mean no reason to believe in his holiness? He created the universe what more do you want?
