Being ignored
That's part of it. The other part is when I make a dent in THEIR argument, they never answer it. They just ignore it.
If you think it is important or a particularly good point --- KEEP REMINDING! Many things get 'ignored' just because there is too much to keep up with. Really ignoring a point is an admission of inability to answer it. Force that out. That isn't the forum it is individuals and up to you to work on.
From the vally floor between Whistler and Blackcomb on a glorious spring skiing day. I'll report back in later after being fried crispy in the sun.

Learning
Why is it the opponents of the dominant view here who have to do all the accommodating? Seems to me the demands of communication ought to require the science mentality to do some learning for a change.
On the logic topic the science side has nothing additional to learn. Did you not "get" the problem of proving things "logically"without using the right "logic"? You don't accept most things just because it seems "logical" to any body do you?
We all know and understand that unfounded opinions don't count. You don't automatically trust the used car or door to door huster do you? Don't you want some evidence of their claims? To the degree that we don't accept claims by just anyone without support we all also agree that evidence is requiered to convince us.
Some people require high standards of reason and evidence in more areas than others. I'm not aware of anyone who doesn't requie some in some areas.
