When that happened to me as a child, I just said "no" and continued with what I was doing. I never did tell my parents about it.
My children never told me about this sort of thing either. So I am guessing that they were able to cope with such situations too. I doubt that they were immune from it. And now that I have grandchildren, I somehow doubt that I will be hearing about such problem with them.

The "moral decline in society" is mostly myth. What has changed during my lifetime, is that people are now more open and honest about it. And I don't see increased honesty as evidence of decline.
