anyways are creatinist considered lower races of humans? becouse they believe? YECs and Biblical Creationists are not a lower race, they are simply ignorant, deluded or lying. Those who are simply ignorant should be educated, those who are deluded should be treated with pity and those who are lying should be condemned. Aslan is not a Tame Lion

In all of your examples, a "foundation" is something that does not change, does not move. Nothing you have said changes the simple reading of the text: the earth does not move. I showed you, but you confused it with the same phrase:
(New International Version)"The world is firmly established; it cannot be moved" (Hebrew Translation)"Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever" I don't know of any hebrew sites about the translation of the biblebut I am sure you can verify it, if you search it. the fact that I point you to search is becouse you will find it. I gave the proof, I told you it was Hebrew, you can find itif your not lazy. Zcoder....

the fact that I point you to search is becouse you will find it. Why should I search for proof of your point? If you're so sure I'll find it, why don't you find it and present it? (New International Version) "The world is firmly established; it cannot be moved" (Hebrew Translation)"Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever" Both of those versions still say the same thing: the earth doesn't move. The earth moves an you know it and I know it,
but the people back then did not know it. but they knew very well what it meant. but maybe I am being unfair to you, maybe I am assuming that you know. I am beging to believe that you don't know. But now it don't matter, couse eather you don't knowor your dishoest. Also I mean this from my heart, I told you the truth, I am being honest on that. But before I go, I must say, I have never seen a closed minded person with no feelings for others who you think is not on the same boat with you, and this you call adversity? Zcoder....

But, I won't leave on that note I will just say that your honest
and that you truly don't know the meaning, and that you also believe in serpents, dragons, and other mythological context found in the bible. A literal reader in deed. Zcoder....

but they knew very well what it meant. Maybe you're just unfamiliar with the English language, but you seem to be contradicting yourself. The Bible authors didn't know that the earth moves. They wrote very clearly that the earth does not move. What do you mean by, "they knew very well what it meant"?
... you also believe in serpents, dragons, and other mythological context found in the bible. Have you mistaken me for a Bible literalist? I'm not saying I believe the Bible. I'm saying the Bible is wrong. Help scientific research in your spare time. No cost. No obligation. Join the World Community Grid with Team EvC

Anyone help me here.
If the earth in its orbit were to drift 100 miles further away from the sun what would happen? If the earth in its orbit were to drift 100 miles closer to the sun what would happen?

Anyone help me here. If the earth in its orbit were to drift 100 miles further away from the sun what would happen? If the earth in its orbit were to drift 100 miles closer to the sun what would happen? During the year the earth's distance to the sun varies by some millions of miles. It's about a couple of million miles closer in January than it is in June. Obviously, 100 miles here or there would make no difference. We can measure (I think) the difference in energy from the sun now but I'm not sure we could measure the effect of 100 miles one way or the other.

I think he was trying to imply that if the earth was an inch farther away from the sun that all life on earth would end as we know it, therefore there must be a god...

i agree, people give the impression that the earth has to be exactly in the right spot for life to exist. which is absurd considering were the earth is rather irrelevent, except maybe for movement of the planets, i mean if we where too close to the sun like mercury i doubt there would be life as we know it now even a few thousand miles might not effect life, i find its begging the question, since we have no way of telling how much the earth would change the closer or farther from the sun we are

Nothing i wouldn't think, considering we stand hmm, 91 million miles from the sun?
sure i think if we were a few thousand miles closer the earth might get a bit hotter, but nothing really bad would happen

Note, Rev, that 91 is around the minimum and 95 is around the maximum. Obviously it doesn't make a huge difference.

From EO - 404 Error
Changes in orbital eccentricity affect the Earth-sun distance. Currently, a difference of only 3 percent (5 million kilometers) exists between closest approach (perihelion), which occurs on or about January 3, and furthest departure (aphelion), which occurs on or about July 4. This difference in distance amounts to about a 6 percent increase in incoming solar radiation (insolation) from July to January. The shape of the Earths orbit changes from being elliptical (high eccentricity) to being nearly circular (low eccentricity) in a cycle that takes between 90,000 and 100,000 years. When the orbit is highly elliptical, the amount of insolation received at perihelion would be on the order of 20 to 30 percent greater than at aphelion, resulting in a substantially different climate from what we experience today. Does that help? Ice cores and several other long-term geological records record these cycles, including those of tens of millions of years ago.

Thanks Ned.
During the year the earth's distance to the sun varies by some millions of miles. It's about a couple of million miles closer in January than it is in June. Does it ever vary from the course it takes every year? Or does it take a fixed course every year.
