quote:
Gosh golly gee, Apollyon, you skipped right by gMat 24:34, i.e.
Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
How odd.
I am not sure what you mean by this. In LXX, the word "generation" is read as "dor" meaning age of man, generation in the sense of contemporary. However, earlier versions write "generation" as "genea" meaning birth, pregnancy, or progeny as in "races" Again, i am not sure what in the world you were trying to convey. Could you clarify your meaning? Unless you meant that the latter verse and the former verses were connected, I don't think you have a point there...

Re: Bit of a mix-up
Oh yes, thank you very much for clarifying. I did get mixed up unintentionally. earth to myself (what the heck was I thinking?) Anyway, my question still stands. I do not get what CA meant by saying "how odd" unless he wished to make a point that the verses 34 and 35 had a nexus and therefore, seemed contradictory. Anyone?

You come here with your feigned naive question (i.e., "What's the difference between Torah and the Christian Bible?"), and then presume to inform us about the Septuagint Vorlage - although you badly screw up the presentation. Personally, I think your trolling, and doing a pathetically poor job of it.
I did not troll, gramps.(just a joke, haha) As for the LXX, I did a googling on yahoo. So don't you go around being cynical, mr. sweet lemon. You think you know something by going around and quoting Israel Finkelstein and Silberman and act as if he's the top notch archaeologist in that area. Personally, I think his writings(from what I've read) have a superficial knowledge basis with professional overtones that do not have enough detailed crap. I heard from an atheist contact of mine that he says that there were no camels domesticated around Moses' time. I think Mr. Finkelstein is either seriously joking or just gone brain dead at the time he was writing. First off, we have no clue as to when Moses lived. We can guess probably 1300 BC to 1450 BC. (Correct me if I am wrong and what "professional" Mr. Finkelstein thinks on this regard.) And also, camels have existed from 3000 BC (I asked a person whose vocation is studying camels, whatever the term describes that occupation) They've gone extinct in many areas, but the Bactrian camels survived and became slowly domesticated. This happened earlier than 1210 BC which might agree with Moses' era. I seriously don't think some Jewish professor, who could be secular for all I know, has any authority, especially when he has his enemies all over the place near his country and he teaches at some stupid university in Tel-Aviv. But of course, being dense in the brain as you are, you can't be blamed. My condolences.
