The Spirit of God alighting and remaining upon Jesus does suggest that He most likely appeared as a Halo. Where else would the Spirit of God be alighting and remaining upon Jesus's body?

What you are looking at is a photograph of the Spirit of God and He sometimes appears as a Halo above people's head.

And, what I was getting at is that this is false information and a deterrent from the truth.

You misinterpret that scripture. As you have my experiences and the work I have done here.

It says descending in bodily shape as a dove.

The wording is, "upon Him". Not surrounding or around Him.

He was in the shape of His own bodily form and descended as a dove would the correct interpretation of the verse. The Holy Spirit is neither human nor a dove.Edited by ScottRP, : No reason given.

Here twice in scripture, it shows the Spirit descending like/as a dove.Mathew 3:16. When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him.John 1:32. John testified saying, "I have seen the Spirit descending as a dove out of heaven, and He remained upon Him."The dove is symbolic of the Holy Spirit because He descends like a dove, not because He "looks" like a dove.
