Re: A technical point
Does the term 'Christian' Automatically imply YEC?
I wouldn't have thought so.
Does the term Evolutionist automatically imply Athiest?
Not necessarily.
I'm not clear why the two are considered mutually exclusive.

catholic scientist writes:
the term chritian is equated with believing that god created life
But evolution does not rule out God creating life, it merely rules out young earth creationism.

NOTE JAR'S ARGUMENT CAREFULLY PLEASE: What he and others believe proves it's right to believe it, proves it true. You'd all be rolling on the floor gasping for breath with hilarity if a creationist had said something that stupid.
The Hypocracy here is astounding. Faith, what you outline here as being hilarious and 'stupid' Is exactly the position you take on your beliefs
the well known "I'm right and nothing you say, or no evidence you produce will change that" defense.
You believe you are right, and therefore that makes you right.
why is it wrong therefore for others to take this stance when you take it yourself so often.

is the same as saying that what you believe makes his belief wrong.
Is this not the exact position you take wrt your faith?
You believe what the bible says literaly, thus all else is false?

If someone makes the statement that the two things are logically contradictory, which is what "oxymoron" means, then you can't logically answer that the fact that you believe in both makes them NOT contradictory
I would agree with that statement,
sorry, I was getting caught up in the original argument between RR and Jar which appeared to be slightly different

Re: Lookingglass Logic at EvC
I'll try and find exact quotes, but I definitely remember you position being one of
"I believe the bible, the bible is truth, so therefore what you say is wrong"
You have definitively stated recently that no eveidence whatsoever would sway you from your beliefs.
That suggests to me that your belief in something makes everyone else wrong.
