I think we can now agree, and have established that these prophecies about Christ are accurate.
Accurate about what?
The verses you printed from Psalm 22 (
Message 153) can be applied to any one, if not several, of the the political antagonists that the Romans crucified in the first century. They probably felt the same way.
Roman Crucifiction
Psalm 22
16 For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.
17: I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me.
18: They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture
Of course from the Hebrew Bible we have:
Psalm 22
16 My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my throat; and Thou layest me in the dust of death. 17 For dogs have encompassed me; a company of evil-doers have inclosed me; like a lion, they are at my hands and my feet. 18 I may count all my bones; they look and gloat over me. 19 They part my garments among them, and for my vesture do they cast lots.
IMO, since the song is written in present tense, it would apply more to the author's feelings and situation at the time it was written not a future incident.
A gentle answer turns away wrath, But a harsh word stirs up anger.
