Re: is one of these things not like the others?
Well it has not been made clear Faith or people would not still be asking you for any support for your position.
So again; how is saying "You can buy anything but a wedding cake" different than saying "You can buy anything in the store except at the white counter" or "You can ride anywhere on the bus as long as you don't sit in the front with the white folk"?
How does a cake validate a marriage?

Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

Re: learn a little history Faith
They were fined $150,000, their delivery van was broken into and all their goods destroyed, there was a campaign to get people not to go to their shop, and eventually they had to close the shop, and although the wife still sells some cakes from home she no longer does wedding cakes, they have suffered financially and the husband found another job to support them. I put all this information up earlier. You don't call that a penalty?
The baker in Colorado who was also sued for refusing to bake a wedding cake for a homosexual couple has been fined and threatened with jail, I haven't seen news about him for some time so I'm not sure of the outcome at this point.

And would you bake a cake and inscribe it with "White Supremacy Forever" or "Heil Hitler" or "Seventy-Fifth Anniversary of the Most Glorious Gassing of Jews."

Re: learn a little history Faith
The only penalty there is the fine and as I explained, when you break the law you should not wine about the penalties.
The other things are not penalties at all.
But where is there an unjust penalty?

If I were a baker? Sure, why not?
In the Us we do have freedom of speech, even vile, evil speech.
But that is just another example of you trying to palm the pea and misdirect attention.

Re: learn a little history Faith
Right, so when I hide Jews from the Nazis and they catch me and put me in the concentration camp I won't whine, I'll just take it. What else can one do when evil laws prevail? But until they prevail I'm complaining.
The Nazis didn't see anything unjust about murdering Jews, so it figures you don't see anything unjust about punishing Christians for acting on their conscience.

LOL
And no one has suggested you stop complaining. You do have freedom of speech in the US, even really silly speech.

The idea that James was not gay is revisionist history. He was an extreme hypocrite, but he was gay. There is plenty of historical evidence that he was gay. Using what he said to prove he was not a homosexual seems kinda silly.

Re: learn a little history Faith
The Nazis were mostly Catholics, not Christians. However, the Protestant CHurches had also been corrupted by that time by the Tubingen School so the whole shebang was rotten to the core.

No Faith, I am just a person who believes in Freedom of Speech, particularly speech I most disagree with. That is not being a hypocrite.
Faith writes:
You obviously have no conscience or you have a really perverted one.
No Faith, supporting freedom of speech is not perversion.
AbE:
Faith, the speech you agree with does not need to be supported; it is the speech you most disagree with that you should stand up and support.
Although I believe the greatest threat to the US and the world to day is fundamental Christianity, particularly Calvinism, I would oppose any attempt to silence them.

Re: learn a little history Faith
You do realize that it is possible to research facts.
Fact one
Catholics are christian
Fact two
Nazi's were christians.
quote:
In 1933, prior to the annexation of Austria into Germany, the Christian population of Germany was 67% Protestant and 33% Catholic.[1] A census in May 1933, six years into the Nazi era[2] and incorporating the annexation of mostly Catholic Austria into Germany, indicates 54% considered themselves Protestant, (including non-denominational Christians) and 40% Catholic. 3.5% self-identified as "gottglubig" (lit. "believers in god", often described as predominately creationist and deistic[3]), and 1.5% non-religious. Most of this latter 5% were committed Nazis, who left the churches in response and encouragement of the Nazi Party program to reduce the influence of the Christian churches in Germany.[4] Most members of the Nazi Party, however, were Christians. Composed mostly by members of the Lutheran Evangelical tradition, members of the apostate Nazi inspired Positive Christianity sect and some of the Catholic faith tradition respectively.
Sources are listed on the wikipedia site.
