Re: Donald Trump is a Democratic plot to make GOP look stupid
Nixon is the reason why I'm registered as a Democrat. I first registered during his administration and he was the antithesis of everything I believed.
Now after that long parade of Republican clown cars, Nixon is looking damned good!

Re: Nixon looking good (sort of)
Holy shit!
Nixon couldn't possibly get a better endorsement than that!

Re: The Donald
Verily, what I had learned in college has been manifested as truth!:
If you can't dazzle them with your brilliance, then baffle them with your bullshit.

Re: sliding away ...
I think Douglas Adams had the right idea. Who would be crazy enough to give that much power to somebody who actually wants it?

My point is the the "foundation of this nation" actually involved rejecting in both word and deed the theory of government contained in the Bible in favor of a better one devised by the Founding Fathers.
And based explicitly on pagan forms of government. Namely democracy (pagan Greek) and a representative republic (pagan Roman). As I understand it, James Madison made sure to pack along his Roman histories to the Constitutional Convention.
And the very concept of religious liberty obviously comes from humanism, which itself grew out of our rediscovery of ancient Greek and Roman writings, which were pagan. For that matter, what the Preamble says about "We the People" forming our own government for our own benefit is exactly what the Radical Religious Right (RRR) of the 80's decried as "secular humanism."
It was also in the 1980's that the RRR started the rumors that our government was founded and based on the Bible. That sounded completely contrary to fact then and it still does.

Re: Jeb Bush the grinder
When asked what he means with that he answered that he eats nails before breakfast. Huh?
At work I overheard a hallway conversation about breakfast cereals that are fortified with iron. He related what he had seen on a "Myth Busters" type of TV show. They reduced the fortified cereal down and took a magnet to it. The bottom line was that that added iron was in the form of iron filings.
So then, yeah, I guess that a lot of people do eat nails for breakfast.

Re: Chris Christie Endorses Trump
When I read the news reports on Christie's endorsement of Trump, the main thing I read was his wanting to get back at Marco Rubio. In addition to that, I'm sure that the two of them know each other from a long-enough time back through business-government dealings, what with Trump's business interests within New Jersey's boundaries.
But that is an important point that as hopefuls fall out of the presidential race, they would now be trying to jockey themselves into position as the VP running mate.
