I may have more to say to this, who knows, but right now I just want to object to this constant refrain about a "biased" website. WHY ARE WE BIASED? Good grief, because we have enough experience to have become persuaded. Sheesh.

No one doubts that you are persuaded Faith but when asked to provide the evidence that was persuasive you have never been able to provide anything but more unsupported assertions and innuendo. Where is the evidence?Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

Trump is tell folk what they want to hear. He is telling folk: The problem is not you, it's those illegal immigrants. The problem is not you, it's those Muslims. The problem is not you, it the government. The problem is not you ... It's getting that way over here too. Perhaps I'm looking at it with rose tinted spectacles, but I seem to recall so much more intelligence and thoughtfulness in politics in the past. Progressively, there's been a gradual lowering of politics towards the lowest common denominator - Trump seems to have dispensed with the gradual bit.Could there be any greater conceit, than for someone to believe that the universe has to be simple enough for them to be able to understand it ?

You can thank the Left for the dumbing down of politics and everything else. It leaves no room for thought. It's all been reduced to mean accusations of the opposition a la PC, slogans and halfbaked Marxist drivel (which of course is denied to be Marxist). Trump is the only one who could say anything at all to the people who have been abused and disenfranchised by the Left because he simplifies it and he shouts it and he doesn't cave in to Leftist PC.

I could point to automatically linking anti-Semitism to Muslims, despite the existence of other anti-Semitic groups as an obvious example of bias.

Because it provides no evidence.
Why do you think they do not provide evidence? What would be the reasoning behind making such sensational claims but provide no evidence? Could it be that they they have an agenda that they want to push, evidence be damned? Show us evidence, not assertions, and we will look at the evidence to determine it's credibility. All evidence needs to be vetted, but the lack of evidence can just be ignored. quote:Christopher Hitchens Facts don't lie or have an agenda. Facts are just facts "God did it" is not an argument. It is an excuse for intellectual laziness.

The thing is you don't know anything about how many Muslims are involved in the car burnings, you are surmising and guessing, and in fact there is no reliable evidence to tell us how many. That there are others involved is apparently also true, but how many who knows? But the jihad motivation in the case of the Muslims seems to be pretty clear. Do you believe what that site said, that cars with Islamic stickers were not burned? Unfortunately the evidence linked from the site has been destroyed. You won't take that as proof of a conspiracy, even though ALL of the links have been destroyed? ALL the links to ALL the evidence cited. A bit too much coincidence for me. Faith still has the ability to make me laugh out loud.

I'm just posting this single message as moderator to say that I'd really like to remain an ordinary participant in this thread.
So keep that in mind while I say that the response to requests for evidence should be evidence, not name calling. If Muslims in France are torching dozens of cars everyday then it should be possible to find evidence of it. I think there may be a feeling by some that if a claim is made that there must be some truth to it, or if a claim is repeated in many places that it must be true, but that's not a very good starting point for finding truth. Evidence paves the way to truth. Things that are true stand up to skeptical treatment, and they don't become false solely because they're believed by groups you don't like.

Unless the police release the ethnic identities of the perps there is unfortunately no evidence except the impressions of those who have been watching the events unfold over the last decade or so. I understand that everyone wants hard evidence, but sometimes it is rational and good to accept at least provisionally what a bunch of people have to say about something, instead of always treating it as false and even crazy. You want to know why Trump is doing so well, I think such attitudes on the Left go a long way to explaining it.
I do want to produce evidence of the Islamic agenda to take the world by immigration and population growth though. I can't find the book yet that is clearest about that because it quotes contemporary Muslim leaders about specific intentions, but I have another that looks like it spells out the plan in Islamic texts at least. Christians invented a religion that's murderously hostile to Christians and Jews to spread Christianity?

I could point to automatically linking anti-Semitism to Muslims, despite the existence of other anti-Semitic groups as an obvious example of bias. It isn't automatic. The Jews who are moving to Israel know they are experiencing Muslim persecution due to the growth of that population in France.

It seems to me that in the absence of ethnic data it is still absurd to assume without any support at all that virtually all crimes of any particular type are perpetrated by members of a single religion. To assume - with equal lack of evidence - a particular motive simply adds to the absurdity.

but sometimes it is rational and good to accept at least provisionally what a bunch of people have to say about something When is it rational to do that? It is certainly possible that a bunch of people might be right about something, but how do you know when that situation arises? Under a government which imprisons any unjustly, the true place for a just man is also in prison. Thoreau: Civil Disobedience (1846) History will have to record that the greatest tragedy of this period of social transition was not the strident clamor of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the good people. Martin Luther King If there are no stupid questions, then what kind of questions do stupid people ask? Do they get smart just in time to ask questions? Scott Adams
