I'm curious if anyone bothers to run Trump's tweets through a fact-checker. As a political moderate, I see Trump's tweets as propaganda to energize his base. My question, as a political moderate, is if there is truth behind some of his insinuations.And I wonder what percentage of the base reads anything beyond the tweets themselves and a favorite Right Wing News source? Any wise constituent of either political persuasion would do well to watch the media that is the ideological opposite of their core beliefs if only to gain somewhat of a perspective.Finally, I doubt whether Donald trump even compiles his own tweets these days. He likely has a propaganda minister doing it for him. Not that a Democrat wouldnt do the same thing. Politics can be stressful.Edited by Thugpreacha, : No reason given.

I honestly think that conservatives believe that not everybody is gonna make it in the future. They know that in order for them to make it, some will have to be sacrificed, likely many. They see the handwriting on the wall economically. They are as a consequence willfully ignorant.

We apparently have now evolved to the point that women care to wear clothing to church that invokes temptation among many men. I suppose that is their right. Not that God cares, surely.

I'm glad to see Christianity Today take this stand.

I'm not a supporter, and I want the truth to fully come out. I am less than optimistic regarding politics these days. I am in no hurry to see him impeached only because Pence would not be any better for us. I am a political moderate and do not hate the left as much as my Christian friends seem to do. (Except one who is a self-proclaimed member of the Christian Left )

As a moderate, many thinks frustrate me. Here is a list:

Christian Nationalism--I see the attitude in myself. The US Middle Class is shrinking, we need to become better educated simply to keep pace with the growing middle class in other countries, and the easy solution was TBN and Pat Robertson! The Nationalist Christian mindset makes it ok to be aggressive capitalists. On the one hand, I can see how they slap the Christian label on it. We hear horror stories of socialist regimes such as Venezuala, but we are never shown the stark reality that without education and modernization we simply won't succeed. Americas inner city youth are lulled into complacency through dreams of becoming a rapper or successful YouTube star. Finally, we are marketed the end times philosophy that says that it all doesnt matter anyway because the end is coming and we may as well look and act smart for Jesus. Lots of us were bamboozled.

Mind you, I am not a creationist (except to say I am a Cosmological Creationist) and I will examine the evidence that contradicts my beliefs and views.

Jesus *could* come back at any time. I still believe that we humans need Him to fix our broken souls. If I am honest with myself, however, I really want Jesus to come back quickly because I am not succeeding in life and therefore none of these other upstarts are doing anything for Him either...so pull the temple down on all of youse! I fear that Trumps evangelical base wants to grab all that they can before the end(the end of American dominance) comes. That being said, I do still believe that we all are in the last days. The big test for me and others will be if we are strong enough to be hungry poor Christians and remain true to our faith or if we were just in it for the money.

I know. We just want to stay prosperous, but we are stepping on people to do it. Only God can help this bill get paid. I just hope He considers my needs as much as the needs of the Iraqi people.

I have noticed several trends in politics. One of them is that both Democrat and Republican mainstream candidates have all moved farther to the Right. Bernie is about as far left as it gets for those with any public support. And the man is hardly a fascist. From most of what i have studied fascism is more of a nationalist phenomenon rather than a socialist globalist one. On many graphs, communism and fascism...though polar opposites, share some common ground. I can imagine several reasons why a Christian Nationalist fears "The Left" however.

diminished private property and capital rights.

increased taxation and mandatory social responsibility. (Keyword:Mandatory)

diminished exclusivity of Christian exclusivity.

The point is that they cant touch those expenses--debt or no debt. You and i depend on social security to keep us from being homeless.

Well, I wouldn't go quite that far. A case can be made to support your accusations of how you view her character, and I know that we here at EvC stick around here for a reason, rather than preferring other hangouts, other people, and a host of brand new personality quirks to learn about.The reason that I am responding to you this way at this moment in time has a lot to do with my own personality quirks, the people and events in my life at this moment whom I interact with and learn more about, and the goal(goals) that I have in mind for my own life.I wrote my response to you last night, after getting off a typical work shift at Safeway and dealing with many customers and a few shoplifters. One shoplifter, a regular, came in the store with an empty backpack and left with it full...bulging even. That quite naturally upset me--I take it personally when these events happen. This morning, I half-listened and half snoozed through one of the audio podcasts that I listen to on Alexa while I snooze. It was
What If I Find Other People Boring? and it stimulated my thinking on how a humanist views responsibility towards effective communication versus how myself, as a believer, traditionally viewed it and how I *should* view it--what issues within myself do I need work on. So then I come in the living room this morning and review EvC responses and here we are! I will answer you in my non-admin mode, as I feel that EvCs rules are a shared product of regular interaction between longtime Forum members and that we all violate them at times--thus no need for a Moderators position on this. Yes she does. I do the same thing. Some of us are more adaptable in our conversations than are others. I personally see Faith improving in some areas, but I note your reaction. Again, its all about interpretation. Have you ever heard the advice to "put yourself in the other guys shoes"? Think about what she is trying to defend, whether or not she fully understands it, and how she views her opponents here at the Forum and in conversations. I feel that many of us (myself included) get stuck in patterns and do not critically think about our positions. This leads to repetition. See, now this is where you get too personal. It is no lie that her eyesight is bad, and this is a personal attack. Love your enemies and adversaries. Heck, I even prayed for that darn shoplifter who caused my hackles to rise. It's not easy, but is it not basic good advice?By the way, I read a lot of the stuff on your page and find the overall effort commendable. They had a rally in Colorado Springs, 50 miles from where I live just this last week. I noticed how many of the audience were white people. Colorado Springs is a conservative evangelical bastion, however. Trump knows how to market himself and he knows who to market to. You won't see many minorities, LGBTQ folks, or Islamic people at his rallies, but I'm sure they have a few tokens scattered around. My conservative Christian Facebook friends are all hyped up about the president.Here are some of their comments:

They see the political Left as a bunch of secularly educated globalists with no clue as to what and why they hold their beliefs dear. Personally I think humans all are the same in nature. No one group is any eviler than any other group. The German people in WW II were no worse than the current crop of Americans are now. Word to the wise.

It has been my experience that fake news and false "prophets" exist in both the Left and the Right. Personally I fear globalist socialism from the extreme left and I fear Fascism from the extreme Right. Hence why I try to be more moderate.

More likely the virus will simply become common and vaccinated. Science alone wont protect us from pestilence.But I will leave that conversation for a later faith based discussion.
