Re: Not Honest nor Straightforward
All this legal parsing is just time-consuming obstructionism. Why isn't firing just subsumed under "otherwise unable to perform the functions and duties of the office. If Obama had done exactly the same thing nobody would have been making such a fuss.
People made a fuss when Obama wore a tan suit, Faith. They made a fuss when he put mustard on his hamburger.

Re: Acosta’s credentials to be restored - for now
Well, I do have a big problem with these activist judges that take it upon themselves to write the law instead of interpretating it, and defy the balance of powers. This is a stupid decision, there is no right to be a boor in the White House.
You know Trump appointed the judge?

Re: Acosta’s credentials to be restored - for now
As Mark Levin pointed out on his show yesterday such appointments aren't necessarily anything more than "horse trading" rather than concerted appointments anyway, but he could inadvertently have appointed a closet liberal, why not?
Though since he's been a been a member of the Federalist Society since 2009 that means he was under deep cover posing as a conservative for at least seven years in the hope that one day Trump would become president and appoint him to serve as a United States District Judge. The really dumb thing about this scheme is that he could have just honestly said he was a liberal and Obama could have appointed him to the exact same job years earlier. You great gibbering guffoon.

I can't get a copy of Trump's autobiography without paying for it either. So much for "freedom of speech". WHAT IS HE HIDING?!?
... see how dumb that sounded?

Re: Acosta’s credentials to be restored - for now
Nevertheless the judgment is wacko. This is a stupid decision, there is no right to be a boor in the White House.
First please remember that this is not actually a judgment. It's a temporary restraining order until the case can actually be held. The judge thinks it more equitable that Acosta should keep his pass until then, and it is hard to argue with that if it is at all likely that Acosta will win.
And it is quite likely. James Madison, who wrote the due process clause of the Fifth Amendment, was quite clear that it should be interpreted very broadly. He gives as examples:
But it cannot be a true inference, that, because the admission of an alien is a favor, the favor may be revoked at pleasure. A grant of land to an individual may be of favor, not of right; but the moment the grant is made, the favor becomes a right, and must be forfeited before it can be taken away. To pardon a malefactor may be a favor, but the pardon is not, on that account, the less irrevocable.
That is, "due process" does not apply just to criminal proceedings but to any circumstances in which the government might act to someone's personal and particular detriment, even if it involves merely revoking a favor it has granted. And the notion of due process has in fact been interpreted very broadly, as Madison wished. (See Perry v. Sindermann for example.) Now this seems to fit the case here. The government granted Acosta a favor; can they arbitrarily take it away, pointing to nothing as their reason but faked video footage? He certainly has a case, it's not a frivolous question.

Re: The Faith Fact Checker
If you really think that "no one is out to get Trump" you are so seriously deceived there is no helping you. If you think people can't be coerced to lie in a criminal investigation you are truly naive. If you think all those allegations are just true about Trump rather than being invented or manipulated or misidentified, you are wrong. And most of them have been far more true of Obama and the Clintons and other politicians but nobody bothers to hold them accountable for them. They get a pass, Trump doesn't. And you don't notice. Nobody even seems to know that the policies toward illegal immigrants that Trump is called racist and unfair for allowing were done more by Obama than by Trump. You don't know, you don't care, you are on the bandwagon of Trump haters and that's all this is about. Perhaps I'm misstating things to some extent because I'm not tracking down all the details and relying mostly on my memory of what I've been hearing from the very worthy Right, but I know the gist of what I'm saying is correct.
Faith, when you "rely on your memory" you inevitably post dumb shit. Stop doing it.

Re: The Gullibility of the Right's Echo Chamber
How on earth could anyone have ever thought Mexico would pay for it directly? That makes NO sense whatever, and Trump couldn't have thought it at any point.
He could and he did. He thought we could bully and threaten Mexico into making a one-time payout rather than facing other forms of economic punishment. It's never a safe bet to say "Trump couldn't have thought it"; Trump can think any dumb thing.

Re: The Gullibility of the Right's Echo Chamber
This is all speculation of course, but I think it would have made the square root of fuck all difference. It has never been a secret that Trump is a philanderer. Those who voted for him either don't consider this important; believe that the importance of the positions they share outweigh any personal failings; or opt for denial and willful blindness to avoid any cognitive dissonance. The accusations of Trump's affair with Stormy Daniels stem from 2011; and resurfaced and were discussed at length in 2016 during the election. What difference did they make?
When you put it like that it hardly seems worth committing crimes in order to silence her. But they did ...

Re: Media silence on murders by illegals, and a couple of fake news reports too
There are a couple other recent stories the Leftwing media got predictably wrong I might as well mention here: the report that Cohen had been instructed by Trump to lie was made up out of whole cloth.
Er ... you just made that statement up out of the whole cloth.
Even Mueller felt it necessary to call it "inaccurate," no doubt a euphemism for "bald-faced lie."
Again, an unsubstantiated fantasy on your part.

Re: More attacks on the nation
Oh I do sometimes support the claim and thought I did now too. But let me list a few of the Leftist anti-American attitudes. Belief in socialism, which is contrary to how this country built its wealth and prosperity and will only destroy it. The current political attacks on a duly elected President which is a total failure of our formerly much admired "peaceful transition" and utter disrespect of the other half of the voting public. Sheer political hatred. As we on the Right knew, there was no Russian collusion and Mueller said so when his report was given to Barr. Of course the Left is now bending over backwards to try to prove that is false as if Mueller would have lied about his own report. So now we have claims that people in Mueller's office are saying the report is a lot worse than originally presented. It will never stop. There was no collusion and no obstruction of justice but they are going to claim there was until the public is so convinced they manage to bring down Trump. Fake news is Leftist mo, any kind of insinuation completely made up will do. There is no more free press in America, it's all social activism, pure politics in service of the Left. Their willingness to let the country be overrun by aliens is destructive, all for political gain. They want to destroy the electoral college which was one of the Founders' insurances against such political manipulations. They have no respect for free speech except their own free speech. I'm sure I'll think of more.
I almost feel sorry for you. But not quite.

Re: The Crime that Was Not and Yet Was
You remind us that collusion is not a crime. So obviously the fact that one is legally innocent of it doesn't mean that one is innocent of it. In the same way, Trump is not, in law, guilty of adultery. That doesn't mean he's innocent of adultery. It means that adultery isn't a crime.

Re: The Crime that Was Not and Yet Was
I thought that was what existed in many countries but not the US where a person is innocent until proven guilty.
I'm sorry, what was that, I couldn't hear you over the sound of an angry mob screaming LOCK HER UP.
If he did not have enough evidence to convict the President then he is innocent.
Whether you like it or not that is a fact ...
No, that's a legal fiction. People aren't actually innocent until they're convicted. Hitler, for example, was not innocent of genocide.

Re: The Crime that Was Not and Yet Was
And Mueller's letter complained about how the MEDIA were reacting to Barr's report because like all the rest of the Left they had not expected Trump to be exonerated and they were beside themselves that the report exonerated him. Mueller did NOT say Barr misrepresented the report, I believe he even explicitly said he did not.. He did not, he did not he did not. He said the MEDIA were reacting in a way that bothered him. If I can find all this I will.
Faith, you goddamned liar. Here is what Mueller wrote.
"The summary letter the Department sent to Congress and released to the public late in the afternoon of March 24 did not fully capture the context, nature, and substance of this office's work and conclusions."
Mueller Letter Expressed Frustration With Barr Summary Of Russia Probe Findings : NPR
Not a word about the media.
You're religious. Aren't you worried that you'll end up burning in Hell while the Devil spits the word LIAR in your face for all eternity?
