Re: Trump vs the Geneva Convention
After a one day bout of sanity, Trump is back on track with regard to torture...
quote:
(CNN)Donald Trump is casting aside any doubt about his position on torture: He's in favor of it because "we have to beat the savages."
Trump vowed on Friday that he would never instruct the military to break the law -- appearing to flip on his previous promise to bring back waterboarding and more severe forms of torture. But on Saturday he said repeatedly, during a rally and a late-night news conference, that he would seek to "broaden" the laws to allow torture, including but not limited to waterboarding.

Re: Trump vs the Geneva Convention
It is a frightening replay it seems; the first modern use of chemical warfare in violation of the Geneva Protocol was il Duce using it in Ethiopia just before WWII. It was said it was needed to beat the savages who were standing up to the invaders even though the savages had no modern weapons, air power or navy. Il Duce claimed it was not a lethal agent since Mustard gas was only a blistering agent and was justified anyway as simply a reprisal since it was claimed that Ethiopians had tortured or killed prisoners.

In a strangely redundant announcement Michael Bloomberg has announced that he's not running for President.
Nor am I, I don't hold press conferences about it.

This is a strange sad story ... Idaho pastor shot in the skull after praying with Ted Cruz, manhunt underway for former Marine.
Last I heard, the pastor is still alive; the suspect has still not been caught; and there's still no real confirmation that this has something to do with the Cruz connection, though if it isn't it's a bit of a coincidence.

Hilter comparisons
For people who haven't had their fill of Hitler comparisons, here are a bunch of them.
Donald Trump responds to Adolf Hitler comparison | CNN Politics
Starting with:
quote:
Donald Trump on Tuesday addressed criticism of a new practice at his rallies that has been compared to the "Heil" salute from Nazi Germany, dismissing the controversy as "ridiculous" before saying he would look into ending it.

Re: Hilter comparisons
I don't know what scares me more, Trump using so many nazi tactics to catch his crowd or so many people going crazy about him.

If you say the word "gullible" slowly, it sounds like oranges. Go ahead and try it.

Good grief, all this concern about Trump being a possible Hitler is nonsense. I read him as a practical man who knows the country is in trouble and understands the feelings of those who also know it. The thing about him that's different is that he has the loudmouthed boldness to shout down the politically correct objections.
Speaking of people going crazy for him, does anybody remember how Obama was just about deified by his followers before he was elected? Speaking of scary, the man was presented as the Savior of mankind, the next Messiah, which is how Hitler styled himself and his followers regarded him. Many were able to show that the adulation of Obama paralleled the adulation of Hitler. I have some of that at my blog. I'll go dig it up when I can.
Trump has NOTHING like THAT kind of following. He has Americans who are happy to hear somebody speaking their language for a change, about concerns they all share. Nobody is deifying the man. He obviously has his faults, in fact faults that make a person cringe.

But you recall how you're always wrong about everything?
The thing about him that's different is that he has the loudmouthed boldness to shout down the politically correct objections.
He is a thin-skinned whiny little cry-baby, isn't he? But I don't see that as a positive thing.
Speaking of people going crazy for him, does anybody remember how Obama was just about deified by his followers before he was elected?
No, but I do remember how halfwitted liars drooled stupid filth like that out of their foul soiled repugnant lying mouths, and how sane people laughed at these lying sacks of shit ... why do you ask?
