None of that attitude is in the film.
If you haven't seen it, how do you know? From seeing so many interviews and documentaries on the making of it. Apparently they made an effort to include a couple of scenes of what they consider to be the extremes on both sides, but otherwise the film aims for an upbeat positive note offering help for women considering an abortion and no attitude of condemnation at all. Of course not having seen it I don't know how well they succeeded but I'd guess pretty well. Edited by Faith, : No reason given.

The clip you linked is just actors glad talking their work. Whoopie. Well, yes, and that is rather big news in the Christian film arena. Even to have a premiere with the actors on the red carpet is as far as I know completely unprecedented. And nobody is saying it competes with Hollywood movies but six million the first weekend isn't shabby. And they ARE all talking it up but they sound very sincere to me, rather amazed at the turnout but feeling it was very well done and deserves it.

I wonder how many people could kill a cow, and how many of those people would still eat a hamburger without feeling guilty. Fortunately I know that if you actually witnessed both the killing of a baby and the killing of a cow, although you might not be able to eat hamburger for a few years the killing of a human baby would leave the greater impression on you.

I read a comic book when I was a child in which the only food the characters had was bananas and it took years before I could overcome my loathing for bananas. However, except in truly dire circumstances I don't think you'd be considering eating a baby.

Christian films don't usually have the money for any kind of promotion.

"Unplanned" is based on the book by Abby Johnson, about her experience at Planned Parenthood and what prompted her to leave. That doesn't guarantee quality of course but she thought it did a good job of sticking to the book.
Most of the posts here are nothing but excuses not to see it and most of them are somebody's imagination about what it must be like without any resemblance to the reports on it.

Funny how you all prefer made-up propaganda to seeing the film.
As for paying to see a Christian film I don't think that brings in much money either, especially since eventually your church will give you a free showing anyway. Edited by Faith, : No reason given. Edited by Faith, : No reason given.

A while back I reported on the experience of Rand Paul -- ABE: correction, that was Ron Paul in Message 427 --who had stumbled into a hospital room where abortions were performed, where a living baby was left to die on a countertop; and was told something like not to worry it would soon die. Just that one accidental encounter suggests the event is not particularly rare. Northam's description of how a living baby that was just aborted is comforted with a blanket while being left to die rather confirms the suggestion that it's not such a rare event.

Gosh I must be the most gullible person here since nobody else here would ever have had such an experience and of course Ron Paul must be a horrific liar. There is simply no other explanation.

Gosh I'm guilty of a failure of compassion for the woman because I've heard reports of babies born live after an abortion and left to die? Wow. And again, it is really remarkable how ONLY the stories YOU believe are the true ones. YOU are of course NEVER "uninformed."

So there's nothing to be surprised about here is there? Nobody has any interest in the movie or any of the facts about abortion, all we're getting is whatever you all want to think, already think, have already thought for years. It's just amazing that so many supposedly intelligent people can't come up with anything better.

We did come up with something better. If you don't want to have an abortion, then don't, and keep your nose out of other people's business. That's not good enough for the assholes of the world who want to force their values on everyone else. Well that's just the same old same old as I said, nothing new at all. However, if you'd bothered to pay even the slightest attention you might have seen that this is clearly not what anyone is doing. The movie aims to bring to light some facts about abortion that are denied by Planned Parenthood and many others these days, and bringing facts to light leaves it to the audience to decide. Kind of like how Wilberforce kept bringing to light in Parliament the evils of the slave trade in his day until after forty years others started agreeing with him. Nobody has to agree with anything the movie shows, nobody is being forced to do anything, so it's interesting that you just don't want to see what facts are brought to light in this film. As for forcing values on people isn't that what our laws do, laws against murder for instance, laws against doing harm to others, laws against assault and battery and rape and so on? Yet nobody is even proposing a law in this case, just bringing some facts to light you may have failed to take into account in your judgment of these things. Edited by Faith, : No reason given.

That kind of personal attack on the woman really requires some evidence. It makes sense of course because by opposing abortion she makes herself a target of the Left which has no compunction about destroying anyone who disagrees with them. I've listened to some of her speeches and I have no reason to think she's anything but truthful.
I look forward to your evidence. Oh and you attack the film too of course, its makers and actors and other supporters who believe it shows the truth that is normally suppressed and has no agenda except saving babies and giving support to pregnant women. Oh you poor deceived thing. I gave two rather telling examples, the one of Ron Paul's discovery which had been reported by LamarkNewAge, not originally by me, and that was dispensed with handily by calling R Paul a liar -- SUCH an effective way to dispense with facts! And the other was the remark by the politician Northam, also first reported by someone else here, about how full term aborted babies are comforted with a warm blanket during their last hours or moments as they lie dying. Perhaps only the Right heard that audio clip? Hm? I don't even know if full term abortions are dealt with in the film but just in case we are assured that Abby Johnson who wrote the book it's based on, is most certainly a horrific liar like Ron Paul.
