Faith writes: It really isn't at all clear that the firing was for any other reason than that the prosecutor WAS investigating matters relating to Biden's son. It is as clear as day. NYT report the day after the firing:

quote: It's a fact, Faith. It's not spin. The Western community of democracies was calling for Shokin to be fired.

Look i realize you're an idiot but how about making an attempt at proving that anything in the link I supplied is false.

Sorry the NYT is not trustworthy either. I think it's Mark Levin who calls it the "Slimes" and wrote a whole chapter exposing it in his latest book, "Unfreedom of the Press." Can't trust anything it "reports" because it's just another of the long list of "news" sources these days that are not news sources but ideological propaganda.

CNN's KFile found a February 2016 bipartisan letter signed by several Republican senators that urged then-Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko to "press ahead with urgent reforms to the Prosecutor General's office and judiciary." here is link to said letter: Portman, Durbin, Shaheen, and Senate Ukraine Caucus Reaffirm Commitment to Help Ukraine Take on Corruption | Senator Rob Portman in summary: The removal of the prosecutor had bipartisan support
At a hearing in March 2016 on Ukrainian reforms, Tennessee Sen. Bob Corker, the Republican chair of the Committee who would one day become a top Trump critic within the GOP, raised concerns about corruption in Ukraine and said his hearing would delve into what pressure the U.S. could apply. At the same hearing, John E. Herbst, a former Ambassador to Ukraine in the Bush administration and now director of the Atlantic Council's Eurasia Center, testified that there was widespread support for the removal of Sholkin and praised specifically praised Biden. link to the hearing: https://www.foreign.senate.gov/...e%20Russian%20Invasion.pdf there's more but seeing as you're going to ignore these links that's all I'll do for now. It's not enough to bash in heads, you've got to bash in minds soon I discovered that this rock thing was true Jerry Lee Lewis was the devil Jesus was an architect previous to his career as a prophet All of a sudden i found myself in love with the world And so there was only one thing I could do Was ding a ding dang my dang along ling long - Jesus Built my Hotrod Ministry Live every week like it's Shark Week! - Tracey Jordan Just a monkey in a long line of kings. - Matthew Good If "elitist" just means "not the dumbest motherfucker in the room", I'll be an elitist! - Get Your War On *not an actual doctor

Yup idiot
Facts don't lie or have an agenda. Facts are just facts "God did it" is not an argument. It is an excuse for intellectual laziness. If your viewpoint has merits and facts to back it up why would you have to lie?

This whole Ukraine phone call thing is at the very least a misunderstanding on the part of the Democrats, which of course they maximize, though very likely in reality it is the usual intentional fake news.
Trump was not referring to Biden at all in his asking for the "favor," that was about the ONGOING investigation into the interferences in the 2016 election which involved Ukraine and some Democrats on behalf of Clinton. So Percy in Message 3513 on the Trump Bashing Thread has it all wrong because he's just following the Democrat line, and so are others who keep insisting Trump was asking for "dirt on Biden." That was NOT the case at all. Biden didn't even come up until later. He was referring to the ONGOING investigation by Barr and others into the 2016 corruptions involving collusions between Clinton and the Democrats with Russians and Ukrainians. Mulvaney was not "admitting" that there was a quid pro quo at all, he also was talking about the ongoing investigation in terms of USUAL PROCEDURES when asking foreign countries to aid in such an effort. quote: The devotion to lying among Trump’s followers is truly amazing.
quote: Trump asked for both. And made it plain that his personal lawyer was deeply involved. And indeed, the first is a crazy fishing expedition. Why is the President doing such a thing ? Why is he saying that it is very important (other than important to you, if you want this missiles?) These are personal favours asked for political advantage.
quote: By later you mean Trump’s next paragraph of speech. So, not much later at all. And what ongoing investigation? Why is Giuliani involved? And why is this so urgent it has to go through the President? That’s not at all ordinary, especially for a mere rumour that is almost certainly false.
quote: No sane person could believe that. It is not at all normal for the President to directly ask for assistance in an investigation. Especially not as a favour. Even less so with the implied threat of withholding military aid. And certainly not for the President’s personal lawyer to be involved.

I've heard this mentioned a lot lately about Trump rallies in general, but then a guest host on "Red Eye Radio" tonight got into detail about how energetic and electrifying the Dallas rally was earlier tonight, which he got to attend. You always hear that the arena is packed and overflowing and this was the case in Dallas too. It holds 21,000 and Chris Krok the radio host estaimated another nine or ten thousand were outside watching on the big screen, bringing the total to around 30,000. People started standing in line before dawn. Sounds like a rock concert. He also said what we usually hear, how happy the crowd is, all in an upbeat cheery mood, and how there is a huge diversity of races and ages in the crowd. How they love Trump and really have a good time at the rally.
People who try to analyze how he has this effect often say things like how he really likes people and they feel it, how he knows how to relate to them, how much he appreciates their support and treats his successes as their successes, How natural and genuine he is, how humble he is though he's so often called arrogant by his opponents, and above all how much they love his policies, feel he really loves America and really wants to help them all. The people who like Trump certainly see him as about as different as you can get from the descriptions we hear all the time from the liberals, such as here at EvC. Edited by Faith, : No reason given. Interesting.
Chance as a real force is a myth. It has no basis in reality and no place in scientific inquiry. For science and philosophy to continue to advance in knowledge, chance must be demythologized once and for all. ~RC Sproul "A lie can travel half way around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes." ~Mark Twain " ~"If that's not sufficient for you go soak your head."~Faith You can "get answers" by watching the ducks. I've no doubt that the crowds do indeed see Trump the way you do. After all, why else would they attend ?
Sadly though, history has taught us that large cheering crowds at rallies are not necessarily a sign that the showman on the stage will be remembered for all of the good and joy he brought to the world.Could there be any greater conceit, than for someone to believe that the universe has to be simple enough for them to be able to understand it ?

"...see Trump the way [*I*] do? I don't recall ever saying I have such a view of Trump. I'm hardly aware of him as a personality.
Of course such crowds don't tell us how successful he will be as a President but the terms in which he is described certainly depict a likable man who cares, far from a Hitler type if that's what you are implying, just a good guy with flaws like all of us who wants to do good for the country.
