Faith does get stuck in defensive mode at times, and I think she gets a bit of a kick out of the fact that she is frustrating some of her critics rather than the more usual scenario whereby they frustrate her.Regarding the title of this topic, I would think that in order to get the best handle on the truth within media, one should peruse several news sources and mix them up as to their Rightwing or Leftwing bent. Get the whole picture rather than just the parts that we like. What do you think, Theo?

Perhaps YOU couldn't have predicted it, but we have been watching it develop for years. Electing incompetent politicians who have nothing other than partisan bluster has been steadily increasing in Republican ranks. Ever heard of the Tea Party, now called the Freedom Caucus? Trump is a predictable extension of that movement. As the facts are emerging, this would require Trump's entire staff misunderstanding his intentions for months at a time. There was an ongoing campaign to pressure Ukraine to start investigations on Joe Biden. This isn't a matter of misinterpreting a single phrase in a single conversation. How long did the inquiries into Clinton and Nixon last?

Well they would have been harping on THE particular "crimes and misdemeanors" they were going to use to impeach him, and it doesn't look like they have arrived at any such particular accusation for the purpose.And it's just weird to come here after hearing a lot of the comment by conservatives. It's a whole other world. Things you think are unanswerable charges against Trump are either answered by experts on my side or dismissed as silliness.

Those commentators you listen to are not conservatives. Actual conservatives believe in the Constitution and the rule of law, not autocracy and hate. Most 0f the so called conservatives are actually faux libertarians. They proclaim conservative and libertarian values but expect for others to live by those values but not themselves.

For those of us in the real world, the Democrats have repeatedly listed abuse of power (Ukraine) and obstruction of justice (refusing to respond to subpoenas dealing with Ukraine) as the first two articles of impeachment. What is their explanation for the quid pro quo of aid money for Biden investigations?

Actually there have been calls for impeachment almost from day 1 due to his failure to distance himself from profits he garnered from the use of his properties -- golfing at his resorts while the taxpayers paid him as owner of the resort, plus admissions for secret service etc -- just for starters.The reason for the emoluments clause in the constitution is clearly to prevent bribery or influence through "donations" to a president. There has already been sworn testimony that there was, by Bill Taylor and apparently by Sondland. Ignoring the facts is not an explanation. The transcripts are going to be made public, and Taylor will be testifying in public. Republicans aren't going to be able to hide any longer.

Taylor --and I think also Sondland though I'm not completely sure in his case -- are antiTrump liars.It's the Left that's hiding in their closed-door meeting, and Schiff is a liar who should be prosecuted for his misrepresentastion of the phone call before the transcript came out. I will agree that it all should come out but have serious reservations as to whether it will change anyone's preconceived political beliefs and specifically change their minds about Mr.Trump. That is assuming they have anything on him. I know one thing--if the Democrats fail to present a good case they will have done as good as lose the next election. I trust the integrity of the Senate to a point, and I believe that if it gets as far as there, whatever they collectively decide will be as honest as a group of Politicians can be.
