What are they going to sue them for? Did you even read the statement? Please explain to me what in the statement is libelous.
Other Catholic leaders including school administrators, said more direct things than this bishop but there may even be libelous remarks in this statement since he completely misrepresents, for instance, the meaning of wearing a MAGA hat:
quote:
“I am ashamed that the actions of Kentucky Catholic high school students have become a contradiction of the very reverence for human life that the march is supposed to manifest.
I'd consider suing him just for that accusation, but it gets worse as he elaborates it.
As such, I believe that U.S. Catholics must take a look at how our support of the fundamental right to life has become separated from the even more basic truth of the dignity of each human person,” ...it astonishes me that any students participating in a pro-life activity on behalf of their school and their Catholic faith could be wearing apparel sporting the slogans of a president who denigrates the lives of immigrants, refugees and people from countries that he describes with indecent words and haphazardly endangers with life-threatening policies.”
I'd sue him down to his priestly robe for this slanderous statement. It's first of all the usual Marxist-Leftist PC lie against Trump for which I certainly wish he could sue the Democrats down to the poverty they want to impose on all the rest of us, but at least the boys should sue over the accusation that the MAGA hat means what this Leftist says it means. Those who wear the hat mean no such thing by it and he doesn't get to define what it means for them. That's just political intimidation and somebody needs to put a stop to this insanity.

Oh now I get, or think I get, your scheme. She's an "anchor baby" then, which is a ridiculous misreading of the Constitution but the Left likes it so I guess it doesn't matter how stupid it is. Goes along with allowing illegal aliens to vote and protecting them against deportation in sanctuary cities and all that utter stupidity.

Re: Here's a fun game we can play
You guys really don't know what's going on in this country if you have to keep asking me for evidence of the obvious. Nevada was one of the states at the Midterm elections that passed a law that you could get voter registration at DMV, which everybody knows means illegal aliens can get it. Nevada also went blue thanks to all the Californians moving up here to escape the political destruction caused by the Left there, but being ignorant of the cause they bring the destruction here.
I haven't followed Infowars in a while but there are plenty of other conservative sources I do follow. Perhaps I shouldn't bother mentioning these things because you're all so ignorant of them and I don't have the energy to track down all the stuff I hear on the radio. The Left is bringing down the country and when it happens you won't know why and that's too bad but you wouldn't believe the true reason anyway.

Re: Here's a fun game we can play
They already get drivers' licenses, which they shouldn't, and being able to get voter registration along with the licenses gives them permission to vote. The Left wants this, don't you know that? The Left wants the country flooded with illegal aliens with all the percs only citizens should have, because they will ignorantly and predictably vote Democrat. The Left is destroying the country.
Didn't I say I haven't been following Infowars? I don't even know what you are talking about. I do like David Knight who has his own show there, and Owen Shroyer, but Knight had a heart attack recently and I haven't been watching much anyway.
I recommend
Sean Hannity
Mark Levin
Sebastian Gorka
Rush Limbaugh
Michael Savage
Laura Ingraham
Ben Shapiro
Lars Larsen
Larry Elder
Bill Cunningham
and others I'm no doubt forgetting, on the conservative radio stations, and now most of them have podcasts, and Mark Levin has his own internet TV station.

Re: Dangerous media smears of innocent boys
You've got it ALL wrong but since you don't care anyway you shouldn't have bothered to say anything. The reason it matters is that the Leftist media got it wrong about what happened, because they liked the Leftist implications of the story -- making the white kids with MAGA hats the villains -- and put a bunch of innocent teenage boys under death threats by other Leftist idiots. But never mind, you aren't interested anyway. Sorry to bother you.

I don't suppose anyone would like to think sanely about this?
I'm not lying, this is what I hear, and it's backed up by lots of experts that are interviewed on these conservative talk shows too. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you all aren't lying either. But the divide is so wide it's inexplicable, exact opposites. Is California rich or poor? It can't be both. Etc. Nobody here seems to be in any mood to grapple with this difference in a reasonable way, you'd rather call me a liar. But I'd really like to know why there is this extravagant difference of viewpoint. Sure I can say it's Leftist delusion, same as you can say it's Republican liars. That doesn't get us anywhere.

I am not in a position to judge such things. Yes they are experts. I believe the conservatives, and i believe them mostly because I saw Marxist propaganda growing for decades, viciously committed to destroying western civilization. That isn't going to change. I guess there is no way to resolve any of this.

I can't read that site. My eyes have been getting worse since I had to go off the supplement for too long. Bright backgrounds blind me.
Finding a consensus isn't going to happen and I'm not sure it would prove much if we found it. There is apparently a completely different way of not only explaining but even perceiving the world.
There is no way this is going to be resolved. That's already clear.

Sorry, once I hear I'm being lied to, or accused of lying, that's the end of it. I don't read any more.

I lived for thirty years in California, in two of the most Leftist areas. I saw the violence of the sixties erupting all around me. I wonder what this "surplus" means. I certainly hope the state doesn't disintegrate because I have two sets of family there still. But I'm not going to reject what the conservatives are saying. I'll just have to wait.

California Unsustainable?
I tend to think people just get things wrong rather than that they are lying. But here's an article that seems to support what I've been hearing:
The Top Four Reasons California is Unsustainabl3e
According to a January 2017 study, “California state and local governments owe $1.3 trillion as of June 30, 2015.” The study was based on “a review of federal, state and local financial disclosures.”
In other words, that $1.3 trillion in debt is the amount to which California governments admit. Other studies believe it to be more. Indeed, one study says it is actually $2.3 trillion and a recent Hoover Institute stated that there is over $1 trillion in pension liability alone, or $76,884 per household. Incredibly, there are 4 million current pension beneficiaries, a number that continues to grow and which exceeds the total population of 22 states.
Pension liability is something I heard about a while ago from a relative in California who is worried about his state pension going poof before he gets old enough to start receiving it.
