If I asked you to add two and three and you said "many" one might conclude that you were not giving a rational answer to the question.
But if we were living sometime in the Paleolithic, that might very well be considered a rational answer. Remember, I'm not talking about "right" and "wrong" or "correct" and "incorrect" but about rational and irrational.

"One" would be wrong. As long as I have a rationale for my answer, it is not an irrational answer. A different number system is not irrational. If I say 1+1=10, that is not irrational; it's just a different number system. If I asked you to add two and three and you said "many" one might conclude that you were not giving a rational answer to the question. All that are in Hell, choose it. -- CS Lewis That's just egregiously stupid. -- ringo

So if I ask you to add two and three and you answered "many" is that a rational answer?

Yes, if those are the only numbers available. What other answer is possible? So if I ask you to add two and three and you answered "many" is that a rational answer? All that are in Hell, choose it. -- CS Lewis That's just egregiously stupid. -- ringo

If. Other. Numbers. Are. Available. It. Is. Not. Rational.
Yes?

But you said yourself, those are the only numbers they have. Are you suggesting that every mathematical thought those people have is irrational just because YOU have a different number system? If. I wasn't asking about what they did.
I'm asking about you. You have more numbers available. Would it be irrational for you to answer "many"?

Asked and answered. I said that if I have a rationale for my answer, it is not irrational. That rationale could be a lack of alternative numbers or it could be something else. What's irrational is YOUR insistence on branding ideas as "irrational" without even considering the rationale behind them. Would it be irrational for you to answer "many"?All that are in Hell, choose it. -- CS Lewis That's just egregiously stupid. -- ringo

So, since you don't lack "alternative numbers" as a rationale, you either have to supply a different rationale, or state that there is none.

And as long as I have a rationale, I am not irrational. Why is that so hard for you to understand? ringo writes: The Bible doesn’t say life arose NATURALLY from inanimate matter. Genesis 2:7 says God breathed life into inanimate matter.
Also according to Judeo-Christian folklore:quote: Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed intohis nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

My position is, intelligence cannot come from non-intelligence.
As for intelligence having to exist before intelligence can exist . . . isn't that a contradiction in your position?

Life arising naturally from inanimate matter defies science. But what is the point of offering such evidence to someone who is determined to reject any evidence for God’s existence?
Unless you can provide any amount of evidence that suggests God actually exists?

But what is the point of offering such evidence to someone who is determined to reject any evidence for God’s existence? Like what evidence? Eschew obfuscation. Habituate elucidation.
