I'm afraid it is about proof. The statement, "I know that God does not exist" carries with it the burden of proof. Again, it isn't about proof. If I declared, "I know that Santa Claus does not exist", I would then be expected to prove that Santa does not exist ... otherwise I would rightly be viewed as a bs-artist.
This thread is about weight of evidence.
If the statement, "I know God that does not exist", were a theory, the thread would then be about weight of evidence ... but that statement is not a theory - it is a claim to knowledge, which consequently carries the burden of proof.

Well said, Phat. Atheists deny the personal experiences of believers simply because they don't want such experiences to exist .. just as they don't want God to exist. So you are saying that its highly illogical and unbelievable that there is a higher power, Creator of all seen and unseen. And I am assuming that your "standard" of evidence excludes the personal experience and perspective of many others. I've personally experienced two miracles, but atheists dismiss them as lies or madness ... any lame excuse to deny evidence of God's existence.

A higher power did let me know it exists with absolute evidence - I've experienced two miracles.
If there were any higher powers that wanted us to know they exist, it would be easy to give us absolute evidence.Phat writes:

And how would you define "reality"?
Of course not, it's informed by reality
Wait, let me guess ... reality is defined by the parameters of science.

So there's nothing good in the world?
Wars and earthquakes and hurricanes and Down's syndrome and cancer and Alzheimers and MS and Parkinson's and ebola and Tom Cruise and on and on, and he wants you to worship him for this?

Which part of "I know that God does not exist" is about science?
Science is never about proof. Science is never about proof.
Really? So science can't prove that Tiger Woods can hit a golf ball further than me? Science can't prove that water boils at about 100^C under standard pressure at sea level? Science can't prove that DNA produces mutations? I think you meant to say, "A scientific theory is never about proof."

And how do you determine what "is not imaginary or supernatural"? I think reality is everything that is not imaginary or supernatural. Wait, let me guess ... the parameters of science.

Those accusations are grossly unfair and lack empathy, compassion and understanding.
These things have been explained to him repeatedly for many months, yet he just keeps on posting the same stupid BS nonsense. He is being most stubbornly willfully stupid about everything, reverting to stupid taunts repeatedly ... He is far less than a bottom-feeding troll.
I'm just a stumbling, bumbling idiot trying to survive and make sense of a baffling world. My latest struggle is trying to get my tiny little fragile egg-shell mind around the claim that science can't prove anything.Edited by Dredge, .

I can't prove it ... any more than science can prove that the process described by ToE produced the fossil record.
Prove it.

No. I wish to withdraw my argument on account of it being stupid ... maybe even profoundly stupid. So you're trying to show my argument is stupid by using a counter-argument that's... well, profoundly stupid? In an attempt to save face, I will place the blame for my mistake on a lack of coffee. Yep, that'll work ...Edited by Dredge, . Edited by Dredge, . Edited by Dredge, .
