Re: Once more into the breach...
Hey, remember when the chairman of the R.N.C. had to apologize to Limbaugh? For saying that Limbaugh wasn't the leader of the Republican party, and that he sometimes made ugly remarks?

Re: Once more into the breach...
You still haven't managed to distance yourself, or progressives in general, from Sean Penn's comments that tea party members should be sent to mental reeducation camps, similar to what occurred in the old Soviet Union.
You have yet to say that's not a good idea, and that Sean Penn shouldn't be given the forum to express those radical views.
Now's your big chance! Distance yourself from those hateful ideas, then perhaps we can move on.
You still haven't managed to distance yourself, or conservatives in general, from Rush Limbaugh's comments that liberals should be killed, similar to what occurred in the old Third Reich.

Re: Once more into the breach...
Nice try.
You just can't admit that Sean Penn put his foot in it, can you?
To avoid that, you have to try to change the subject--again.
Sorry, it is not going to work this time.
Let me know when you can address the repugnant statements Penn made, which seem to reflect a widespread attitude among progressives.
I would hope that you don't agree with them, and that you don't think folks who disagree with you really need to be put into mental reeducation camps.
I'm sure you can do so, but until you can repudiate those comments, we have nothing further to discuss.

Re: Once more into the breach...
The rest of your post tries to change the subject.
Not at all. It amplifies the subject and shows an amazing bias on your part.
Maybe you cannot read when you get all worked up and decide to be a concern troll.

You might want to scroll up and read.

Oh and I do not speak for other Progressives either. Do you speak for all conservatives?
I obviously do not agree with everything anyone says. Penn can be very hyperbolic and divisive. To think progressives need to distance themselves from stupid things other people say is asinine. To think progressive subscribe to everything every progressive says is asinine.
So why don't you address the things Dr Adequate brought up? Why do progressives have to apologize and distance themselves from every stupid thing a progressives says but conservatives get a free pass?
Come on you are really, really sinking to crank territory here.

So I think it is safe to assume you agree with Limbaugh's comments. Well at least we know where you stand.

Sure, since you ask. I completely disassociate myself from and denounce the idea that any attempt should be made to make Ted Cruz saner or indeed smarter than he currently is.
Now your turn. Will you repudiate genocide, as you have been asked to do, or will you continue to give tacit consent to the extermination of tens of millions of your fellow Americans?

As to whether Cruz is crazy, well, yeah, a bit:
"We understand that our rights come not from a king or queen, not from government, but from the Lord God almighty. But if America is going to continue to stand strong, we must first be on our knees." --- Ted Cruz.
"Agenda 21 attempts to abolish unsustainable environments, including golf courses, grazing pastures, and paved roads. It hopes to leave mother earth’s surface unscratched by mankind. . . . Agenda 21 subverts liberty, our property rights, and our sovereignty." --- Ted Cruz, conspiracy theorist.
"You look at our Constitution, you look at our Bill of Rights, this is an administration that seems bound and determined to violate every single one of our Bill of Rights." --- Ted Cruz, paranoid lunatic.
"I mentioned that if you were trying to design a law to hurt young people, ObamaCare--you couldn't do better than that. Well, it has produced a lost generation." --- Ted Cruz, speaking six days before Obamacare actually took effect, because pfft, time goes in whatever direction he likes.
"Marxists who believed in the Communists overthrowing the United States government." --- Ted Cruz on ... go on, you'll never guess ... the faculty of Harvard Law School.
"Sharia law is an enormous problem [in the US]" --- Ted Cruz, once more demonstrating his firm grip on reality.
"We need 100 more like Jesse Helms." --- Ted Cruz, who presumably went on to call for "more holes in our heads".
"If we keep going down this path, we're risking losing our nation; we're risking losing the incredible oasis of liberty." --- Ted Cruz on ... go on, guess. No? Gay rights, of course.
I can also provide evidence that liberals are alive, if anyone doubts it. So, Coyote, do we have a deal? We liberals will undertake to let Cruz go on being a bit nutty if you conservatives for your part will let us go on breathing.
Will you renounce once and for all the genocide advocated by Limbaugh, the terrorism supported by Coulter? The ball's in your court.

Re: Once more into the breach...
That is entirely wrong.
The tea party is conservative socially, and is anti-woman, anti-gay, anti-black, and pro-corporation.
Fascism should rightly be called Corporatism, as it is the merger of corporate and government power.

That affects my opinion. You asked me my opinion and I gave it to you and why. If the details aren't factual, then I'm wrong about stuff. Its no big deal. But that doesn't mean I don't have an opinion and that it wasn't affected by said things.
How is anyone supposed to take you seriously after you post this stuff? If a creationist told you about a belief that he had formed in this way, you'd read him the riot act.

Some clarifications
The Democrat party is politically liberal, socially liberal.
The Republican party is politically liberal, socially conservative.
The tea party folks are politically conservative, and socially try very hard not to state an opinion at all.
Can you explain what 'politically liberal' and 'politically conservative' mean in this context. They're words used in wildly different way, and I'm not sure if I follow in this case.
--------------------
On the seperate subject of Sean Penn, I believe I can offer some clarification:
quote:
joke
[johk] noun
1.
something said or done to provoke laughter or cause amusement, as a witticism, a short and amusing anecdote, or a prankish act: He tells very funny jokes. She played a joke on him.
verb (used without object)
6.
to speak or act in a playful or merry way: He was always joking with us.
7.
to say something in fun or teasing rather than in earnest; be facetious: Sean Penn didn't really mean it, he was only joking.

In the USofA a "liberal" believes all income is the property of the government and Congress gets to tell you how much of your earnings they will let you keep every year.
A "conservative" believes the government should get its nose out of your wallet and back into your bedroom where it belongs.

If someone came here and said that they learned in church that evolutionists think that humans evolved from chimps, then no, I would not tell them that every fiber of their being hates Darwin and biology. Instead, I would just point them to factual information.
Sometimes people get wrong information, that's no reason to accuse them of hatred.

You are right. No it is not a reason to accuse them of hatred.
But we do expect people do drop beliefs formed on bad info. In an extreme case, we might ask them why the did not check the info for themselves.
