If Trump does nothing, won't it be the folks who elected him who are complaining? Well yes. But he IS doing something, and there's no evidence that his voters are complaining.
With respect to Obama care, if there is indeed a catch 22, Trump and the Republicans basically put themselves in position to take a fall for what happens when if they don't replace it with something functional by making promises in the run up to the election. Trump seems to have figured this out before his colleagues in the House and Senate did. However what Trump has elected to do is try to make sure the ACA fails by pricking holes in it. It failed long before he was elected, it's a significant reason he was elected.

My question to you is why should anyone discuss any topic with someone who repeatedly distorts. I haven't had a chance to get to that other thread yet but I intend to, maybe tonight or the next evening or two. I haven't even checked that one lately to see what kind of a wreck it has become.
What folks are instead claiming is explicitly stated in the 14th amendment which is that there are due process rights applicable to all any person within its jurisdiction. That one begs for a response. (other thread)

Yes that does happen. Perhaps not blowing up until you read the article would be a good way to proceed. But as you can see in my above response to dwise1, sometimes reading the whole article doesn't make the dishonesty go away.

It failed long before he was elected, it's a significant reason he was elected. It failed with some help from the right in crippling the initiative. And even with that, it seems that most people currently do not want the ACA removed without a replacement. However, both of those observations and questions completely miss the point. If what Trump and his party come up with is "not as good as" that should be reported.

But as you can see in my above response to dwise1, sometimes reading the whole article doesn't make the dishonesty go away. Are you ever going to provide any meaningful Trump examples? I saw your examples about the "truck driver" who was actually a "pickup truck driver" and the other example where you decided that you did not like the photo. Both issues were easily cleared up by reading the article. Just what did you think was being conveyed when you thought the truck driver was an 18 wheeler operator? What difference would that make? Three times or even more I've tried to properly quote marc9000. Even I have no explanation why that had been rendered impossible. Shall we try yet again?
But as you can see in my above response to dwise1, sometimes reading the whole article doesn't make the dishonesty go away. Well, here are those "above responses to dwise1" Message 494. I'm sorry. I wanted to itemize those "above responses to DWise1". But they all turn out to be so pathetically idiotically wrong that it absolutely boggles the mind that any sentient being could ever possibly have considered it. Edited by Admin, : Fix message link.

This happened earlier in the week, but it should be mentioned. On Wednesday Trump rescinded the Obama rules giving transgender students the right to choose their own bathrooms. It left in place protections against bullying and so forth.
I don't understand objections to the rule. Now, depending upon the state, students who look like men will be using the women's bathroom, and students who look like women will be using the men's bathroom. How does that make any sense? I know how I'd react to a woman in the men's bathroom - I'd feel very uncomfortable. Isn't that how most people feel? I'd probably leave and look for another bathroom. Here's the New York Times article: Trump Rescinds Rules on Bathrooms for Transgender Students --Percy

I just read another article by the same professor who wrote The Mind Of Donald Trump written in The Atlantic magazine.
I took psychology in college and have always been interested in it. Both of these articles, in my opinion, describe Donald Trump and his inner workings quite well. The next four years will be a classic textbook example of the power of a president backed by a populist mandate (one-half of 30% of all voters) supported by a conservative Senate and House. This week, Trump addresses congress in a State Of The Union address and it will prove interesting. What will the opinion of the congressional leaders be (as a consensus)? By now they see Trumps public persona...but will he be able to unite them through this speech or will everyone simply see more of Il Ego strutting on stage?Chance as a real force is a myth. Wonder what the Toilet Police do about XXY and XYY etc people.
quote: Is an XXY person male or female? Who chooses and when? Is an XYY person male or female? Who chooses and when? Should not they get to choose their identity? What about people who develop as female but have male genes because their hormones didn't switch on the male gene development (female is the default)?
quote: So do the the Toilet Police put her in male bathrooms because of her genes? By what perverted morality would they do that? Inquiring minds want to know. A big question will be whether or not there will be a vocal body of Republican Congressmen willing to point out both absolute falsehoods, misrepresentations and attempt to palm the pea that seem to be the norm for il Donald presentations.
If there is to be any hope of a successful Trump Administration it must come from the Republican Congress and the Courts doing extreme vetting of il Donald'd actions and words. The Republican Congress and the Courts have a duty to oversee and critically examine all facets of the Trump Administration. Responsibility for damages done under a Trump Administration falls squarely on the Courts and US Republican Congress.

OK, you have a point. This is the one opportunity that today's Republican Party has been waiting for: A mandate. They have the opportunity to change the course of US History towards their liking. If they fail, I believe that the republican party will no longer exist in its present form. Not only that, there is a scary yet real possibility that none of us will continue to exist---Trump could well be the reason that unifies the rest of the world against the United States!
I realize I am being entirely hypothetical, but I fear that an authoritarian leader backed by generals and a bunch of redneck populists provides an attractive target for any attacks against the imperialism of America. And spending a trillion dollars to upgrade our military won't protect us. Ever read about David and Goliath? WE are Goliath.Chance as a real force is a myth. Wonder what he will be like with a room half full of hostile people, some of the rest being luke warm, and few cheerleaders? Will he bring his own audience of phsychophants (yes that's intentional) or try to load the gallery with them?
Will there be Russian flags?
Trump supporters blatantly waving Russian flags at CPAC. Pathetic.
